Don't make the same mistake as me...
So, I sort of ordered this on a whim without fully understanding what I was getting. When it arrived and there were actual roots in a bag I was taken aback. I was expecting this to come as a powder, which is 100% my fault for not reading the description fully. Luckily they do provide full instructions on how to prepare this on the bag, and I really appreciated that. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.I don't own a mortar and pestle so I had to kind of figure out my own way to grind these up...which was not easy. I went in expecting this to not have a pleasant taste so that didn't bother me. I added a bit of honey but found it didn't help much. The taste is what it is but that's just how it goes sometimes with this sort of product.I have only consumed this the one time so far and did not experience any adverse effects. They warn you not to drink too much so be mindful.Don't be like me, read the product description before ordering! While I have no prior experience with this sort of product, and would not look to purchase it again in the future because I'm far to lazy to prepare this on any sort of regular basis, the herb is exactly what it is supposed to be. If you know what you are doing (and own a mortar and pestle) then I can recommend this product to you as again, it is exactly what it is advertised to be.

Not for weak palates...
The tea is made from the root of the plant. After reading the instructions, I saw you need to grind the root after washing it. We didn't have an actual normal sized mortar and pestle but had a tiny one really meant to make garlic paste or grind up pills for those who can't swallow them....that worked to at least break it down a small quantity at a time. I'm going to be 100% honest the root alone out of the bag smells really intense and earthy. After grinding and washing the root and before infusing it in the water, the only way I can best describe the smell is a bit like cigarette and wet dirt. The taste of this tea is STRONG. They are not joking with the warning that it can upset your belly.I tried to mask the strong flavor with manuka honey but to no avail since the honey just trapped the flavor and made it just passable but as soon as the honey hit the back of my tongue, the root flavor came out.I can tell you with my personal experience that it does help with digestion but it is really hard to drink. No only the flavor but the smell of it is STRONG. Don't get this looking for pleasure, you won't find any. If you're looking to take this medicinally, I say, GO FOR IT!! I've seen it has soo many benefits, but read these reviews so that you're prepared !

kutki herb as advertised
This is a 100g package of kutki herb. If you already know what that is you should know what to expect. If you are seeing this product for the first time read on:You can make it into a tea to get benefits to digestive and liver health.Since this is a package of base herb, not pre processed into powder, some effort is required to grind the herbs into a usable state. I prefer it this way since I know that nothing was used to dilute the product if I make it myself.I knew what I was getting into when I ordered this, so my perspective is a bit different than some of the other reviews. I expected a bitter, poor tasting tea that you drink for health reasons not for taste, and that's what I got so I am very happy with the product. This is not something you buy if you are looking to make refreshing, delicious tea; so the poor taste doesn't affect my satisfaction.

Potent Herb, Bitter Taste, Prep Required
If you're looking for kutki root in its purest form, this delivers exactly that, no fillers, no additives, just whole dried root pieces. It’s a solid choice for anyone who prefers natural remedies and doesn’t mind a little extra prep. The root is bitter, no doubt about it, but that’s expected with most Ayurvedic herbs. Many people mix it with other ingredients or sweeteners to tone down the strong flavor, though it rarely masks it completely. The packaging is decent with a resealable bag to keep the product fresh, and the included instructions are clear and helpful. That said, this isn’t a grab-and-go supplement. You’ll need to wash, dry, and grind the root, ideally with a mortar and pestle, to make tea or water infusions. It’s a bit of a commitment, especially for daily use.

Kutki herb
It is a bag of big stalks of this plant. I think they are dried out and there does seem to be dust/dirt on them. Its got a strong smell to it, almost vinegar like.Dont know what the benefits are supposed to be. Searching it up it talks about liver health. That is a tough effect to notice if your liver is okay already. Its a big amount of the stalks that should last a while. Has detailed instructions on what to do with the herb. You need a way to crush it up, they recommend a mortar and pestel. There was a hair sealed into the top of the bag when I opened it which was kind of nasty.Overall interesting product.

Kutki Roots
This is exactly what it says it is. The "Kutki Herb 100gm (3.52oz) Picrorhiza Kurroa – Katuka Rohini – Pure and Natural 100gm" comes in a bag with the whole roots inside. You'll need some method to grind this down before being able to really use it. Kutki typically doesn't taste great but the benefits outweigh a bad flavor for a short period of time.

Whole roots need washing and grinding; tea is BITTER
In Ayurvedic medicine, kutki root is used for its detoxifying properties, particularly for the liver. It is also used to help digestive issues, specifically slow transit. I thought I’d give it a try.I knew the product was whole root pieces, though I was surprised at the amount of dirt attached. I guess it’s fresh? It’s not a problem to wash the roots, but then you do have to wait for them to dry before grinding.I have several mortar and pestle sets, so it was no problem to grind the dried root. Then I steeped the ground root in hot water to make a tea.The tea was bitter, really bitter. I was unable to mask the bitterness with other ingredients, and I found it really unpalatable. This product wasn’t for me. If I decide to pursue kutki root in the future, I will look for an encapsulated product.
