Great product
I love the utility of these bandages. They'll help buy you some time when you've had an accident and need to seek care for yourself. They won't be a replacement for stitches, but they can offer more closure than a regular bandage would.

great idea
Luckily no one in my family has yet had occasion to use these (knock wood!), but I'm so glad they exist! They are such a great idea. These come individually packaged and with very thorough and easy to understand instructions with lots of illustrations. Glad to have them on hand!

Very heavy duty that can be undone/redone.
These are actually pretty remarkable. They are very heavy-duty butterfly closures that use what are essentially zip ties to tighten **or loosen** the closures.I hope that I never actually experience a wound so bad that I have to use one of these, but it's nice to know that I have them. These are for what I would call very heavy-duty wounds. At the same time, the best feature of them is the ability to loosen and tighten them as necessary. I could imagine a situation where you might want to go back into a wound, for instance if you think there might be something in there that wasn't removed and might be infecting things. You can actually just press the release latch and loosen things up.The zip tie parts hold very well. The real question is, “does the adhesive work equally as well?” From my testing, I would say the answer is yes. The adhesive holds nicely even after getting wet period I didn't test it with a lot of sweat, but I still expect it to hold reasonably well Under those conditions. I didn't have a legitimate wound, so I tested it on my leg. I was able to zip tie it very tightly toward the skin bunched up nicely and then I did some amount of exercise which caused my leg muscle to flex. The closure stayed on tightly and didn't budge. Under actual use, it would probably be best to wrap the closure anyway, and that would help alleviate some of the stress on the adhesive.Any injury needing this level of wound closure is something that would have to get medical attention as soon as possible (stitches, for sure) but in the meantime, these might make a real difference.

Hope to never have to use it but it's great for when you need it
Some things you just need to have around the house and some stuff you just put off as an afterthought until you need it. When it comes to emergency medical care or supplies, it's always good to err in the side of safety and precaution. That's why I ordered the Uray branded butterfly closures for open wounds. You never know when you will need something like this for injuries that require you to close up an open wound. The Uray emergency wound closure device is basically sterile zip ties that have a flexible fabric adhesive on two points of the closure and four thin plastic zip ties bridging the gap. The way you use this device is to put one end of the adhesive fabric bandaid on each side of the wound then slowly pull the zip tie closed until the wound is fully sealed closed. The device is ingenious as it does away with stitches or staples. The only thing that I feel is a negative is how expensive these types of devices can get. I wish that they will become more available and affordable like how bandages are now. otherwise, these types of devices are great to have in your medicine cabinet or first aid kit. Of course, this type of device is not a final solution to a problem, if your wound is that bad where it is open and deep, please seek professional medical care or advice.

Zipper Bandaids for Semi-Serious Wounds
These are very interesting bandaids that allow you to treat semi-serious wounds and cuts at home. By semi-serious I mean a cut that needs more than a regular bandaid but maybe not a visit to the ER. This is where this product can help. The bandaids feature a unique 'zipper' that helps to close wounds and keep them closed. You get four single 'zip' bandaids, each medically sealed. I haven't had a wound that requires use of one of these, so I can only comment on how they appear to work. The box of four comes with a good direction booklet with instructions and photos, and it seems to be not too difficult to use these. I do wish a shorter version of the directions were on the individual packs as it would be great to take one or two in an emergency kit and not the whole box. But that's a small point.Overall I think these could prove to be incredibly useful and potentially save you a visit to the doc or ER. At the same time, we all need to be discerning about what we can reasonably treat and what does in fact require professional medical attention. These zip-bandaids offer a great option to wounds that can reasonably be treated at home. Definitely worth having!

Works but bulky
These close a wound ok but will need a bulky cover. They stick up off of the skin enough to catch on clothing etc.
