Sim Card routers should be more mobile phone based
A good item but could be improved by a notification light on the front panel for SMS messages, it would also benefit from the ability to plug in a phone handset. TP-Link are great with routers but when dealing with mobile sim card dependant items they are a little lacking in their design from mobile phone makers as in order to use this properly with multiple wireless devices you need a high rate or unlimited data plan and these come with unlimited call and texts that this device makes hard to use on the SMS side and impossible for the call side. Data only plans I have found to be more expensive than plans including voice and SMS.After 1 month of using this I have had good signal strength throughout my house, the colour is great as it needs to be mounted in a window for best mobile reception and being white in sunlight prevents it from getting too hot, the power cable is not long enough for window mounting so have had to find a way to extend it (it was easier to move a mains extension to the plug than extend the power cable).Having to log on the router home page to check for messages is a pain so you can't really use the message side.Mobile broadband is good for singles or those with lower internet (non gamer and no HD streams) but you can't really plan how much data you will need, for example you tube does let you pick different resolutions but does not specify how much data you will need to watch a video. Not many singles and couples really need fibre band-with.As I am using this with an unlimited internet plan that gives me calls and texts unlimited too I have tried to switch to a Motorola FW410 4G (after only 1 month) which did not provide as good a signal throughout the house but was able to use all 3 parts of my plan - calls, texts and internet. unfortunately the hot-spot side of this item packed up after only 5 days of use, it was a hot-spot not a router. This TP-Link router is a good reliable solution for data only with limited SMS function. If calls are required on top (like with my requirement) you may need 2 sims and 2 devices (and 2 accounts/bills), 1 to handle calls and texts (a basic Nokia 105 mobile will do this for around £20 equipment cost) and this router which gives the added bonus of being able to accept add on aerials which can be either indoor or outdoor mounted further improving mobile reception (did not need these and have not tried these, may need after house move). Most people already own a mobile so should not have this issue, the use of a non smartphone is due to battery life, recharge interval and better reception. My circumstances: due to probate (death of the home owner who paid the broadband bill) I will be leaving this house soon, could not justify a 2 year broadband contract and mess around with number changes when I move. This mobile system means I pay less for phone services (no line rental), get the bandwidth I need, have uninterrupted number portability and choice (albeit limited) of my own equipment. Landlines are lv ike TV licences, a thing of the past that you don't need (if you don't use TV) and there are newer alternatives to consider. This way I only have to inform of number change once which with the house move is required anyway.

Archer NX200 sim card router
Archer NX200I have to say this unit seems like a game changer to match home broadband (at this time). I’ve only had this unit for a week and so far this is what I have found. 1) very easy to set up using the ‘Tether’ app. 2) I’ve been using a ‘Smarty’ sim card with unlimited data and uncapped speed (1 month renewal, cancel anytime £20 pm). 3) you’ll need to find the best location for it, usually up high near a window and of course where the nearest mast is. I live in a rural area where signals are not good but I’ve been getting an average of 5g download speeds of 120mbps and upload around 3mbps. Upload not good if you work from home but maybe a lot better in a town. 4) If this continues at this speed I will think about removing home broadband where my max download is 70mbps. 5) Another bonus is that it has a guest network. You can see on the app how much GB’s you’ve used monthly and if on a limited GB scheme set up a warning when close to your limit. Again using the app you can see how many devices are online and even rename them. The app gives you so many options, to long to list here.So as you can see I like it. If I have any problems in the future I will do an update.

Excellent value for a 5G sim card router
Disclaimer: I use this with a Three 5G mobile sim card only in an area which supposedly has no 5G signal, but in reality does - although that signal can be variable even using an external aerial at approx. 2km from the mast across mostly open fields. In essence I use this purely as a 5G sim card modem (wifi turned off) because I already have a good router & wifi system. When I purchased this what I really wanted was a 5G sim card modem that can use an external aerial with to boost the signal as much as possible, but finding such a thing at an affordable price seems impossible. After reading dozens of reviews and after trying a Netgear M6 which turned out to be unsuitable for a number of reasons, I settled on this TP-Link NX200 since it seemed to offer everything that I needed at a reasonable -ish price.Initial setup is quite straightforward although I personally found myself using the standard web interface in preference to the "Tether" app, because it has way more settings.Talking of which TP-Link say that this isn't classed as a "premium" router which means that advanced settings are more limited - there's not even a "Pass-through" mode on this router for example. Also IMHO they could take lessons from Asus and Netgear for both web settings and the Tether app.In use though it's been quite consistent, reliable and it provides higher download speeds that the Netgear I was using that is three times the price of this, so maybe any grumbling about features and apps is expecting too much.Yes I have to reset the router fairly regularly BUT I suspect that's way more to do with mobile signal (see my disclaimer above) than it is to do with the NX200 - and I certainly don't need to reset this as frequently as the Netgear. The Tether app for me in my circumstances is next to useless. It connects sometimes but mostly doesn't, so for anybody planning to use one of these & the app for remote access I would say "beware".All things considered though I'm very happy with this NX200. I does most of what I want and doesn't need too much input from me to keep doing it, plus it is (for now) excellent value for a 5G mobile sim card router.

Works very well and compact enough to carry around with my work requirements
I bought this to utilise a SMARTY 5g sim card that i take out with me on the road to ensure i have access to data through my laptops and my mobile phone if the signal or on site wifi is poor. So far i have found it very easy to use, it has provided good data access and i have gone one step further with the option on the back of the unit to add two external antenna and that has helped as well. Overall came to me on a special price, very happy with the product
