We got this gate to use during our renovation in our house to keep our cats in one part of the house. It's able to fit in both size doors we have around the place which is a huge plus. Also, the additional height bar that comes with it is super helpful to keep my cats from trying to jump over. It, also, has a little door at the bottom that you can pop up, if you want to keep the item installed and door closed, but want the cats to enter. Super convenient to accommodate different spaces.

This gate is perfect and I mean PERFECT for introducing cats to one another!We have 4 cats and last year our boy cat was ganged up on and attacked by our 3 girls after he was neutered. We had no choice but to keep him separated from the others in his own room for 5 months until they could all safely co exist again. He was miserable the entire time, clawed at the door constantly, and only stopped crying when we went in and sat with him. Looking back I really wish we would have thought to buy this gate then because he wouldn’t have been so isolated, nervous, and I’m sure the re introduction wouldn’t have taken nearly as long as it did.Fast forward to the beginning of October one of our girls had surgery and was separated for a few days to recover. Once we tried letting the others in to see her all hell broke loose. She didn’t recognize our boy cat and her sister didn’t recognize her. That stirred EVERYONE up and she attacked our boy cat like they were a couple of alley cats fighting during mating season. It was absolutely terrifying. At this point we decided to buy this gate and separate them by floors. Two cats on the top floor and the other two downstairs.I love that this gate pressure mounts so I didn’t have to use a drill. I had it set up and working within 2 hours (I had to end up adding the extension and then I had to take it down and start over and add one of the extra bars to the sides so it was my fault it took so long).When I say there is absolutely no way for cats to get through wonderful thing I mean that! Even our strong stealthy tuxedo can’t hop it, go through it, absolutely nothing! She just sits and stares longingly through the bars with a look of defeat knowing she can’t get to our boy cat she’s been terrorizing. We’re almost certain she’s been suffering from FHS which would explain her aggression so the vet is our next step.Since only 2/4 of the cats are getting along at the moment we’ve been switching out who goes where to circulate all their scents throughout the house and to keep them from feeling bored/lonely. One cat in the bedroom, one roaming freely upstairs, and the other two downstairs. Then the next day we switch the one in the bedroom back out to roam the upstairs and the other one goes back into the bedroom. We’ll have to do that until our boy and our other girl get along again. We’re still in for a long haul given the fued is worse than the last one but this gate has given the kitties their freedom back and has provided us with complete peace of mind that they are all safe. I don’t have to worry anymore about leaving them alone all day while I’m at work and they don’t have to feel scared that they’re going to get attacked. This has been a complete life saver!

I did so much research before deciding on this gate. I decided on this because the actual gate pressure mounts between the wall/doorframe and not the ceiling…which actually gave us more height than other gates I was looking at. I did think that this was a bit taller but that was my mistake in measuring our floor to ceiling. Oops…should have let the husband do that but I was only off by a couple of inches not a big deal and this is adequate height!We are taking in a Siberian forest cat and the owner of the cat said he can jump very high, is very “crafty” and will get out if he can. We got this so we can slowly introduce our cats and the new cat very slowly. We will put up a partial wall at the bottom so they cannot see each other at first. I wish there were a company that could include something like that into the design. Possibly a solid portion that could be slowly raised daily until fully introduced and removed later, then the gate as pictured for a while until complete use to each other. Maybe this company will take that into account if they see this review. But this gate will be perfect anyhow. It would just make it even more perfect if that was an option.This gate is tall, it is very well built and sturdy! My husband was very skeptical at first because he is constantly complaining about how all of Amazon is garbage! But not this! He even said that it was built VERY well, easy to assemble, the directions were simple and straightforward, the hardware was easy to use. It opens and closes easily, it swings towards you or away from you and it has a pet door. The bars are very narrowly placed so no pet will get stuck in the bars. It has a nifty little tab you can turn downward to ensure it is securely locked and if you even wanted you could put a padlock through that space but isn’t necessary for our needs. It has no sharp edges or anything that can cause problems with the animals or even our toddler. This gate is beautiful, it looks really nice. I got this during Black Friday sale and it was a great deal for how well it is built! Happy husband, happy kitties, happy toddler, happy wife/mommy! It’s a win for this wild family!

We bought this gate for our baby's room to keep the cat out, as she kept sneaking in and waking the baby. It works great overall, but it doesn’t fully reach the top of the doorway. Our cat is bold and managed to jump over it from the wall, so we had to use zip ties and the provided screws to cover the full doorway.I do wish the gate was a bit taller to eliminate that gap, but the overall quality is fantastic—it’s very sturdy. We specifically wanted a gate with a handle on both sides that’s easy to open, and this one fits the bill. Assembly took some time, but the included tool made it easier.
