Durable coil and nice hot spark!
I use these on Kohler small engines on garden tractors. They work great, hotter spark than original, instant starts in cold weather. Since it is an epoxy filled coil , they hold up to the vibration very well. Been using these 6 years now and never had one fail!

Blue Bosch and 123 Ignition Distributor Works Quite Well in 70s MB
Installed this coil with a 123 Ignition RV/6 distributor for 6 cylinder Benz, works great. Engine runs smooth, no miss, and pulls like a bull!Primary internal resistance measured @ 3.6 ohms. Also utilized .4 ohms (blue) external resistor for total of 4.0ohms. This higher resistance will supposedly save the circuit board inside the 123 distributor from overheating in the event ignition is left ON for extended period if time. No sound of liquid sloshing around when shaken..... not stirred! So far, happy with result, and product.

Works great
Works great on my '78 Case 222 garden tractor with the Kohler k301a. Had to use the old clamp, as the one that came with this coil wouldn't fit in the small space next to the carb, but otherwise works flawlessly.

Fast Shipping.
I love our 1982 VW Westfalia. Decided to change out a few of the ignition components & wanted to stay with the Bosch product line. Also wanted to stay with the German theme. Had replaced my distributor with an electronic unit & wanted to have new parts. Price was good & received it promptly.

Genuine Brazil Blue Coil
Thanks to another reviewer who verified that this batch of coils passed the 4 tests, I decided to take the risk. I ordered mine less than a week after that review was posted, so I figured I had a good chance. For those of us driving old air-cooled VWs, we can be particular about our parts. This one has the internal resistor, 3-blade connectors, no sloshing oil. Box is labeled "Made in Brazil". The one that arrived for me reads 3.5 ohms resistance on the primary coil, and 8.1k on the secondary. I was disappointed that my favorite online VW Bus parts suppliers all carry only the Mexican-made Bosch or Beru coils. I ordered a Beru and was disappointed to find it oil-filled. Will this really matter much in the long run? Maybe, maybe not. But since I found this apparently better match for half the price, why mess around? I'll gladly pay a restocking fee for that. In a couple of years these Brazilian coils may be extinct. This should replace my worn-out black coil perfectly.

Great seller
This bosh coil was so cheap and has worked great over the past year. I think this was the perfect place and seller to buy it from

The car would start up just fine for the first time of the day
I have a 1992 VW Jetta GL. My car had some problems with starting. The car would start up just fine for the first time of the day, but once the engine was warm, and you wanted to start it up again, it didn't want to idle. Ex. I can drive about 30 minutes, but if I stop and turn off my car for about 15 minutes then come back to it, it didn't want to idle. You would have to start the car about 10 times before it would stay running. There was excess pressure in the cooling system too. The engine would turn over, then die in a matter of seconds. I went to the mechanic, and they said the ignition coil may be expanding, and that's why it would not idle- there's a disconnect somewhere in the ignition system. The mechanic couldn't fix it because he couldn't read the fault codes to be sure it was the problem.Turns out they were exactly right. Once I replaced the ignition coil, the car would start and run fine each and every time. This was a few weeks ago, and no new problems have popped up.The only problem was that the connection points (the gold plated part) didn't fit, and were dented when they arrived in the mail, so my shade-tree mechanic took the connectors off the old ignition coil, and put it on the new model. Everything works just fine now.Altogether, I spent $70 for parts and labor.

Choose your vendor wisely...
Basically, I got exactly what I ordered from Dune Buggy Warehouse! The coil is blue with a black top...It has the correct yellow/red stickers...It came in the standard yellow box with red Bosch printed on it...The box is marked Brazil...It has a part number stamped into the bottom (0221119027)...It comes with 3-way male terminals on both posts...It does not slosh. It is solid (epoxy filled)...It is 3.4 Ohms resistance over the primary terminals. (It has a ballast resistor inside)...
