Crossed Volume 2: Family Values (CROSSED TP) Paperback – September 27, 2011

This volume of the Crossed series, created by master of dark illustrated literature Garth Ennis (venerated by fans for his stints on established titles such as Punisher, Judge Dredd and The Shadow -- worshipped by fans for his own creations such as the incomparible Preacher, Bloody Mary, The Pro, Jennifer Blood, Stitched, Chronicles of Wormwood and his Eastwood-worthy Streets of Glory) -- lives up to the horrific vision of its creator under the pens of David Lapham and William Christensen, and even goes steps beyond. Survivors of the Crossed epidemic flee with an abusive father while their mother, unable to escape the raid of infected, begins tracking them driven by the madness of torture and sadism which is the Crossed. So, as they do what they must to live under the leadership of the father who raped and beat them -- how much more terrible are the monsters chasing them, and in what form will salvation come -- if at all?

Finally, a gruesome series that appeals to my deep seeded hatred of the human race! It's an awesome book! I don't know what that other reviewer was saying about this volume having less characterization and more cartoon violence than the first one and blah blah blah... go back to english class and write a book report.This comic had just about everything I can ever want: gore, intense violence, naked boobs, creative ways to mutilate people. It's way better than the first volume. Actually, don't even bother with the first volume. Start with this instead. Faster story, more violence and even some fetus eating. Get it now before Big Mother bans it! Trust me, white women will find a way to make this thing illegal someday.

I am trying to work my way through the Crossed collection from the beginning and this one is a bit more twisted than the others I have read. They're all twisted, but this one takes it a but further as it delves into a family situation with a complete douche and how he treats his family. It seems that it took a piece of The Walking Dead and worked it into the storyline. It borrows the governor's love for his daughter and the determination to keep her for as long as he can. Still, once you begin to read, you'll find it hard to put it down.

A world that is ruled by the crossed

Great read. This book is not for the squeamish...Contains murder, incest, rape, and tons of graphic violence. This story tries to expand on the human element aside from the gore. I would recommend waiting on the third title because if your like me, you'll sit down and read both books in a few hours. I think this series has great potential and I'm looking forward to more.

True to the title, this volume focuses on the remains of a family and their interpersonal drama after the Crossed epidemic strikes. The main character is well written and I found myself rooting for her, and it just drives home the point that no matter how much good one does in the world, it does not erase certain behaviors which will always be seen as repugnant and never excusable. I really enjoyed this volume.

Wow, I thought I had or seen or read some messed up ideas but this had them in quantity. Kinda impressed that such messed up ideas were okay'd and put in a product for the masses to be able to read. Was pleasantly surprised.

i really liked volume 1, the story was interesting, the characters were unique and the gore fit very well within the world. but this takes that gore and ups it a thousand fold for no reason. the story is okay, the characters arent special, but the gore is what seems to be the main focus of this volume. definitely made me reconsider continuing with the series
