Very nice set.
These work really well. I bought a practice padlock to go with them (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LUKSDXU?ref_=cfb_at_prodpg) and while not the sturdiest padlock in the world it did provide a bit of a challenge. Then I moved on to a Yale lock, and lo and behold, I picked it! It was only one of their smaller padlocks, and I still have to tackle the huge one I bought a while ago, but at least it is a start. As to the picks themselves, they are stronger than others I have tried and been unhappy with. They also come in a nice leather case which didn't pong. Six tension wrenches are included, in an assortment of shapes and sizes. There are no instructions whatsoever though. However, youtube is your friend on that front. It should be pointed out that I got these because I was interested in learning how to pick a lock as a hobby. It was extremely satisfying when I picked my first Yale lock. However, I wouldn't advise carrying the set around with you, unless you have a very good reason. You might end up with a lot of explaining to do if plod every found you with them while you were walking home from the pub.

I'd... pick... this one.
I'm a beginner lock picker and, admittedly, this set is overkill for my needs. The 15 piece set, which also has metal handles, would suffice. However, having received an Amazon gift card for christmas, and having not much else I currently want, I decided to go beyond my needs. The kit is excellent. I've become very interested in this topic and done a lot of reading. I hope to grow into this set... somewhat, at least. I can confirm they work, at least! The leather case is beautiful. A little cosy, but it fits everything. The picks are strong and rigid. I was afraid that the metal handles would be uncomfortable but, at least for me, they aren't. They're also small enough to fit the keyways I have been practicing on.It's always worth getting a good quality set. Mainly because the tools are all replaceable for a few pounds, saving money in the long term.

Good quality, great selection, sand down both ball picks
Excellent set works well and the case is surprisingly compact my only complaint would be the ball and double ball picks they seem to be to large to fit into almost any keyway, I have since sanded off one side to make a half and double half ball and would recommend anyone else who buys this set does the same otherwise you'll get no use out of these two everything else is fine though best set I have found so far in terms of balance between price and quality

Southord quality as always is really good, nice set in a nice case
I purchased this as I wanted a zip up leather case and buying one on its own was nearly the price of this kit after import duty etc.As always the Southord picks are nicely finished, with a good selection of picks, I have incorporated parts of my C1510 and BPXS-12 kits to this set so there is room to add a few extra picks and wrenches into the case.Proper leather case with strong zip, good selection of picks that are slimline so the uk buyers won't have any issues in their locks, I've picked a collection of euro UPVC doors and padlocks with this set, using the single pin pick method and raking, with the addition of the BPXS-12 kit which is like a bogota pick set, I've popped open padlocks in seconds.Overall it's a decent case (my reason for purchase) with nice picks that will open a far few of the locks you come across with a bit of practice.

First time lock picker
Well it was my first time at lock picking so I really cant comparatively say how it measures to other lock picks but my impression was these are well made. They have proper handles and more choices than my ability knows what to do with.I bought these for two reasons. Firstly , its something I've wanted to have as the boy in me thinks its cool. Secondly I had a double glazing window which was locked and I never had a key for it.So for 11 years this window been closed. My lock pick set arrived today and I picked the lock. So this was actually cheaper than getting a locksmith to open the window.Shipping was great, ordered Friday, arrived Sat. I wish there were some instructions but in fairness it didn't say there was and having done a bunch some research on the net today, I think the videos were frankly the most useful. No sign of anything bent and twisted from my novice first pick abuse.I'm very happy with my set.

Lock picking Set / proper tools not toys
Very good product does exactly what it says, picks locks if you know how. This is the set for the UK market as the thicker type are for the US market. Well worth the money, quality is great and all fit in a nice quality case.No plastic rubbish in this set at all, even the zip of the case is a heavy duty metal type.Very happy with this purchase, delivery was outstanding really quick on the 3 day type.P.S. i would like to point out, i work in the lock trade and these was purchased for my job not any other reason. This is why i've picked a good quality set that will be used a lot. I do think they are a bit too easy to obtain for any criminal use....Many thanks JMD

Quick review from a complete beginner
I bought a cheap set of picks with a practice lock about a week ago and it got me interested enough to invest in a higher quality kit. I'd already bought a load of padlocks to practice on but had no success with the cheap picks, they were just too rough and thick, I couldn't rake and with some locks I couldn't even fit the picks in properly. I got this Southord set today and I've already opened three of the locks - one within seconds. The difference between the cheap set and this set is like night and day. They're smooth, strong, slimline and polished; the variety of picks and tension tools is brilliant. I only have the cheap set to compare them to but I'm very happy with the build quality and selection of this kit and I'm positive they'll last for years. Excellent stuff.
