At less than $23, this product does what the $95 self closers do for much less! I purchased this because our garage door would constantly slam shut rocking the whole house and damaging the door. Other soft closing options were much more expensive and I personally couldn't justify the cost, but at 23, this one was worth the gamble. The instructions are garbage. Let's just get that out there. But the product works as described. I added a little extra support on my install because the door casing was installed a little funky, this gave it the support it needed. Most other doors wouldn't need this. Overall, would buy again!

Installation instructions were next to useless. Finally found a video online to follow for installing. Got it all done only to have the thing do absolutely nothing. It doesn’t close the door as much as one inch let alone all the way. Total waste of money.

I installed this closer on a 30-inch storm door. Unfortunately, it takes too much force to open so I have to return the closer. This product is better suited for heavy commercial doors and wider doors that could provide more leverage against opener resistance. There is no adjustment for opening force. Closing and latching operation works very well. The hold-open feature is nice. I didn't want a 'fire door' closer.Tip: If you are tapping into a metal door, use a #9 drill bit and M6-1.00 thread tap for the thick screws.

The enclosed instructions are useless and impossible to use. I could not install and now I have wrong holes in my garage door.
