Q: Would running it for 8 or 9 hours straight be an issue?

I run mine fro 10 to 12 hours every day. No problems. I love it. Very quiet motor.

Q: I want to put this between the mattress and the box spring - Do you think it safe to leave on for 8 hours straight?

The only time I’ve ever noticed a problem was when I did that. It felt great but after a hour when I checked it it was so hot I couldn’t even touch it and I work with my hands and can handle hot stuff so I was highly concerned. After I researched it these things are made to be attached to the bottom of an adjustable bed which just has a board as a box spring. When attached there you can feel it just as much and the most important it’s outside of the bed so it can cool itself down not sandwiched between two different things. My best advice would be to attach a 5 in wide 1 inch thick board across the bottom of your box spring to as many of the support boards with screws as you can then attach the vibrator to the board but check on it the ones those beds come with shut off every 30 minutes the one you asked about can run all night if it gets hot put a small fan under there plugged into the same three way that way it turns on automatically hope that helps good luck

As long as it’s in a place getting plenty of ventilation and doesn’t get 2 hot 2 touch as long as needed
