This is a nice little metal box housing an AV splitter system. There are 2 inputs, which are switchable. There are 4 outputs, which are not switchable. I would love to get one of these boxes that you can switch output channels to redirect the sound to certain sets of speakers (I only need the audio). But here we are. This is a powered unit, the power brick is supplied. I don't know why it needs to be powered though; as far as I can tell the signal is not amplified. Seems you only need the power to power the little LED lights that tell you which input signal is switched (switch position is another giveaway, so the LED is redundant, but hey pretty).Okay you can thank me later. I thought well let's have a look in it since I got it to test. Picture relates to its guts. Printed circuit board and although I have dabbled in electronics before, I can't confirm if the circuit board exists to modify the signal - and if so, it is probably just to eliminate signal noise I would say. Of course the switch for the inputs with the light is part of the circuit board.I'd rather not have to rely on power for a switched audio signal.
