Tripod Mount Ring for Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS (SEL70350G)

I chose this unit over others because of where it mounts on the lens. Being forward from the rear of the lens keeps it out of the way. I had some concern that it might scratch the lens but found that it had thin high density foam on the surfaces that contact the lens. For easy placement on lens, I found it best to overly-loosen the clamping knob and slightly spread the ring while sliding over the lens. Very pleased with this product.

I was not using the 70-350 because using the camera' tripod socket makes the rig so out of balance. Why would you put all that stress on the camera body's tripod socket and lens mount? I was thinking of adapting a Canon D collar as I have done with other lenses. This product solves it. It fits the lens perfectly. The foot comes with an Arca Swiss type plate. It looks a perfect match the lens.Sony should have supplied this with the lens originally. It's good that somebody produced one. $40 is very fair. This probably fits the Sony 24-240 as well.
