Let No Man Write My Epitaph (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series)[LP]

With just voice and piano being presented here this is a quiet recording that could easily been “warts and all” if the pressing quality wasn’t up to par. Happy to say that over the 2 sides I didn’t hear even a hint of surface noise.Superb low key vocal jazz with a stunning pressing to match. I was actually going to pass on this one and just wait to come across a CD as I figured with just vocals and piano I wouldn’t miss much compared to vinyl. But I forgot I had actually ordered a vinyl copy anyway - and I am really glad I did as this is wonderful.

I had an Acoustic Sounds 45 RPM pressing of this record, and it is great. But if the 33 RPM version sounds even better, why. Bother with the extra side-flipping?

This LP has almost zero surface noise and sounds great.

SACD is just so good. There is more presence, more reality......... When it comes to acoustic music - jazz or classics - SACD is the way to go if you want to hear the music properly.

Simply stunning and an instant favorite of mine. The recording and engineering is outstanding, and the music is sublime. Highly recommended!

I love Ella. I have never purchased a CD by Ella that I did not like and this one is no different. If you are a fan just buy it.
