Really good double sided tape really does stick stuff together really good

I bought this tape to re-attach the metal badge that had fallen off my 40 year old Volvo 244. I noticed the badge, that fits on the driver's side wing, had slipped and was about to fall off one morn - it looked like it had been fixed in place with adhesive in the Gothenburg factory in 1980 so I sought something similar to replace it.This 3M VHB was the right size and the strongest I could find. It was delivered quickly and well packed for transit. I'd already cleaned the back of the metal badge with a small abrasive wheel and the painted surface of the car wing with acetone (this is absolutely essential), the tape was easy to use and produced a very strong bond indeed after 24 hours. The badge should be held in the correct place for the rest of the life of the car.Since I have used the VHB tape on a number of similar projects - also with very good results.I recommend this product.

I use this tape to stick various items into shadowbox frames and it simply holds anything and everything! The only limit is the surface you're attaching to!Price is on the higher side, but you get what you pay for and it's worth it!

I've has two experiences with this.The first I bought was for metal surfaces, I have used this on solar panels (aluminum to aluminium) and steel to steel mounting rails and the strength is instant, and amazing. Very happy with this application.So, I tried to use the same tape for mounting pine cladding to steel (campervan conversion). It was OK- as in it initially gripped but could be popped off later with a tug, wouldn't trust it long term. Fair enough, not what it's designed for and the earlier results on metal to metal were amazing. So I bought demanding surfaces tape which is downright awful - I haven't found anything it successfully sticks

I had to put my rear dashcam in a new car, the kit that came initially never caused any problems so I wasn't expecting it to fall off on a regular basis. I used 3m foam adhesive and have had to replace this approximately every 4 weeks, admittedly there was some unexpected hot weather during this time.I thought this was worth a go, and tried to follow instructions to the letter ( not so easy, it says don't touch, but you have to cut to size!) Anyway I measured and cut with as little handling as I could, stuck one side onto the actual dashcam and then struggled to get the backing off, I had to use tweezers, then I stuck it to the rear windscreen and kept it in place with masking tape for 24 hours. 2 weeks later, and a hot spell that hit 28°C and it's still firmly in place. If it falls off I'll edit.March 2022, it hasn't budged!!!

I've brought rolls of this many times in past. This time round it was to re-attach the rubber weather stripping around the door of my car as it's a known issue that it starts to detach.Few example of what i've used this on* Reattaching a dashcam onto the windscreen in a new car* Attaching cable management items to desks & walls* Reattaching things where the glue is failingWorks well in winter and summer, would recommend to anyone.

So far, the only time anything has come unstuck with this tape has been when the paint the tape was stuck to peeled away from the wall underneath! Perfect for sticking up all those garden LEDs you have.
