You should never have more than a 5% voltage drop over the length of an extension cord. Given that this is a 10-amp device, for performance, cord durability, and most importantly, safety, you should have a 16 gauge cord for 50ft (4.2%, 5 volt drop), and 12 gauge cord for 100ft (3.3%, 4 volt drop) and 150ft (4.9%, 5.9 volt drop). Always err on the side of a larger cord (smaller gauge number is larger) when dealing with electricity, even though such cords are typically more expensive. $10-$20 can be the difference between working/broken equipment or something catching on fire. Be careful about someone using a 16 gauge cord under acceptable conditions, but then adding an extension and causing problems.

Q: I charged it 2 straight days and it wouldnt start! Did i get a dud?

This mower can be selected as a corded electric 10 amp or as a 40 volt cordless mower. Please look at the entire sale page before making rude and unhelpful comments. To answer this question, if you ordered the 40 volt cordless mower, then yes, you did get a dud. If you ordered the electric 10 amp then there is no battery to charge.

Q: Does it cut well pulling it backwards instead of turning the mower?

I believe so. I cut going forward then back instead of turning because my lawn is small. I never had a bad cut with this mower.

Q: I live in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country & wondered how the mower would last if stored outside in my shed. How is it affected by rain, snow, cold? Will it start right up next spring?

We store all of our greenworks tools in the garage....we keep the batteries in the house in the winter always and they start right up in the spring. I live in the northwest.
