Perfection
The media could not be loaded. Perfect product, quick delivery, feels expensive, works better than the original basket. Compatible with delonghi dedica 51mm.. if you use this, do not buy costa or similar crap.. it will not work.. you need proper coffee like illy 100% arabica or a coffee grinder.. otherwise forget it.. do your diligent research on how to make coffee.. this works differently from the basket (pressurised) with the little single hole at the bottom. Is not rocket science but do not expect magic tricks if you think this is easier.. (the opposite) it takes time to tune and many attempts before you will get a proper coffee.. the coffee I made in the video was my second attempt with pre-ground coffee.. not perfect but way tastier than the pressurised basket.Easy to clean, and gets rid of coffee in the basket without that silly plasticky thing felling off every time in the pressurised basket.Gets hot pretty quickly - please pre heat it to avoid cold coffee 😂No leaks, perfectly sized for the machine I am using. Not sure how long will the handle last, but considering it can be removed I am sure is going to be pretty lasting..Hope this helps you and allows you to make your decision.. I love to share my coffee with my wife, reason why I wanted the double “nostril”. And for the price is a no brainer..Downside is that you will have less space to accommodate large cups in case you want a double, or you want to make two cappuccinos. But that is how the dedica is made.. I will probably make a little wood stand that is going to be wider to accommodate the cups and place a towel to collect drippings.Ciao ciao 👋

A huge upgrade for my Delonghi Dedica. Staggering high quality
I had a bottomless portafilter i was using with my Delonghi dedica as a spare and unfortunately one of the ears (notches for locking into the machine) broke. So it was time for a replacement. I had been using the standard portafilter after removing the plastic bit at the bottom and liked how it made the coffee with more creme and less mess. So i decided to get this style. It also helped that EVERY cafe i have ever seen use a double spout like this.It arrives very well wrapped and they include a single unpressurized portafilter basket, and a tool to help lift the basket out the portafilter. Straight away i was stunned at the difference in quality compared to both the original delonghi, and the after market bottomless one. This feels heavy and solid in hand. This is not a light bit of cheap material. It has been finished to a mirror shine. There are no rough edges or misaligned parts. It is simply beautiful. This is made from all stainless steel (apart from the wood handle) so there's no danger of rust. It should last a very very long time.Use wise. This uses unpressurized baskets. So the standard ones included with a delonghi dedica might not work. The 51mm basket is a tight fit so i imagine the standard pressurised baskets will be too tight a fit. This is not a bad thing as the unpressurized basket makes far better and tastier coffee. Looking down from the top the retaining wire uses roughly 5 points to hold the basket, compared to the Dedica's 3. This is a far better and more solid hold. The basket slots in and holds tight. When your dose of coffee is ready the portafilter slots into the machine seamlessly. It is a really nice confident fit. No play or over tight, just right. When brewed the twin spout flows the coffee to either 1 cup or split between 2. It is a bit random and luck of the draw how much flows from each spout. The spouts also have a rough texture which really helps with generating more creme.Cleaning is ok. You can remove the filter to clean the inside and a straw brush works a treat on the spouts and inside. I would prefer to unscrew the spouts from the filter for better cleaning but it didn't want to budge and i wasn't going to force it. The cleaner the equipment is kept the better your coffee will taste. Any gunk left will spoil the next brew.Flavour wise. This makes great coffee, with full extractions and rich creme.Excellent quality, good value, recommended. Thank you for reading my review.i hope you found it useful

Nice upgrade to the stock portafilter
I have a Gaggia Gran Deluxe. I think this portafilter was meant for a Delongi, so although the diameter was correct, the ears were too wide and so wouldn't fit. I took advice from other reviewers here who filed the ears to fit. This was quite easy to do. Just pick up a cheap flat file from somewhere and check the fitment every now and again to make sure you don't over do it. Now I got it to fit, it works really well.

another poor quality amazon piece of overpriced junk with a fancy handle
leaks from where the spouts are attached to the bottom of the portafilter.

Mixed results - you might be better buying a 51mm basket
Bought this to replace the standard portafilter that comes with a Delonghi Stilosa - which I think is great VFM simple manual espresso/milk frothing machine. Its never going to produce the best possible espresso or steamed milk, but at the price point it is very very good - provided you do not use the supplied pressurised basket, and grind your own decent quality beans.First the positives - it looks good and the coffee it produces is much better than with the depressurised variant of the standard portafilter with a much better flow rate. The negatives - (a) the basket looked as though it was never coming out of the portafilter body: after a bit of gentle prising with a small thin screwdriver around the ears I managed to get it it moving and separated - but it was not easy; and (b) the portafilter does not lock securely into position on the grouphead - and it tends to slowly unlock; this can be overcome with a light hold on the portafilter handle to stop it turning. Neither of these negatives are total show stoppers, but they should not occur. The final test was to put the basket from this in the delonghi portafilter - it worked but the coffee was not quite as good. The basket was a bit loose in the portafilter - but the portafilter did not unlock itself! My conclusion - if you can put up with the negatives for this combination, buy the portafilter or a similar bottomless one. otherwise, or If you only want to spend £5, buy a 51mm basket that fits the Delonghi 51mm portafilter, but be careful of the depth here given the plastic bits in the portafilter body.
