Private Pilot Oral Exam Guide: Comprehensive preparation for the FAA checkride (Oral Exam Guide Series) Paperback – August 8, 2023

Although i ended up returning this book a couple days after receiving it, i still think this book is worthy of 5 stars if you’re a fixed wing pilot preparing for your oral exam. It includes direct questions, and straight to the point answers with references, and the scenario based questions were a plus!!With that said, if you’re a helicopter pilot, like myself, there’s still valuable information but very little is specific to rotorcraft. I ordered this book as a supplement to the ASA Helicopter Pilot Oral Exam Guide (3rd Edition, published in 2024). The third edition is a complete all-in-one study tool specific to helicopter pilots and no longer requires the use of this corresponding Private Pilot Oral Exam Guide. That’s the only reason i returned this book.So if you’re a fixed wing pilot, GET THIS BOOK to study for your oral exam…if you’re a helicopter pilot, get the 3rd edition helicopter pilot oral exam guide, it’s the one with the purple cover 😉

This book has everything I needed to prepare for the PPL oral exam—it covers so many questions and answers. Its more helpful for fixed-wing pilots; there’s barely anything for rotorcraft. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase, even-though I am unsure what are the lasted updates could be.

For those of you learning to become a ppl. Know how much you need to learn and retain. This book helps you understand the acs and how to navigate through it. Helps the learning process for sure.

Bought five and loan one to each of my students to prepare for their oral. This is not a list of all questions a DPE could ask on an oral but it covers all sections of the ACS on a sequential order and covers the basic questions about requirements and goes into some more in-depth questions with scenarios.

A well outlined and simple primer for the exam. I like the size of the book too. Not so big as others I have seen.

This oral exam seems to be fitted more towards fixed wing pilots. It does have some questions for overall piloting but not geared towards rotorcraft
