No mess chalk
As someone who regularly engages in bouldering and deals with persistently sweaty hands, I've become something of a chalk connoisseur. I've always leaned toward a specific brand that offers chalk in a powdered form but I was curious about these chalk blocks.Firstly, the blocks score major points for convenience and cleanliness. Transporting them is a breeze, eliminating the messy fallout that often occurs with powdered chalk. There's zero worry about spillage in your climbing bag, making for a more organized and fuss-free outing. That said, the blocks do come with a personal learning curve. While they offer decent grip enhancement, I find myself still partial to the fully powdered version of chalk. I ended up grinding the blocks into a less refined, clumpy powder between my hands, which seems to counteract the purpose of using blocks in the first place. Some climbers swear by chalk blocks for chalking up, and if you're among that group, these will likely serve you well. However, in my own experience, the texture and consistency of the powdered form better meet my needs. The blocks are an excellent option for those who prioritize ease of transport and tidiness, but if you're a stickler for a specific texture to enhance your grip these blocks may not be the best for you

Arguably the best chalk for bouldering on the market!
The media could not be loaded. This is arguably the best chalk on the market for my needs. I'm a boulderer and this chalk definitely improves my grip on the wall and enhances my performance.Being in block form allows you to pull off the required sized chunk, twist into yourpalms/hands and because it begins as a small rock sized chunk, when your skin comes into contact with it, it seems to remain on your skin for much longer than the powdered alternative. It is incredibly lightweight. There's virtually no odour to it and it washes away cleanly when required to.I use liquid chalk initially as this seems to stop my hands/fingertips from getting grazed, followed by as much of this chalk as I deem necessary. You don't really need to dip into your chalk bag as much with this chalk as you do with other brands as it sticks nicely to your sweaty hands and doesn't tend to come off easily like I've noticed with other brands.I'm a 'block' chalk convert and have tended to use chalk that arrives in powder form, but now I've used this brand successfully, I'll always only use this brand moving forward.8 blocks of this quality chalk for £16.99 is a real bargain and will last me for sometime!I've 'allowed' a bouldering chum to help himself to some of this chalk and he's of the same opinion as I am. It's really good, I've mentioned it to fellow climbers and I've posted a link to it on numerous social media platforms. This is the way! 🍄

Great option for CrossFitters and Weightlifters
This is a nice big box of chalk from Mammal Strength, which is an up-and-coming brand that I've been impressed with inside the CrossFit industry. This chalk is an alternative to powdered chalk or liquid chalk and comes in block form. I quite like this style as it's more easy to store inside your bag (obviously inside a second little bag) and seems to be quite a bit less messy than powdered chalk, which gets everywhere. It's easy to get good coverage of your hands and once you do pick up a bar or grip a rig, it has clearly done its job, ensuring you get a good grip.I've especially come to like that I can slip this in my pocket during WODs or even competitions and just pull it out as needed to prepare for a barbell lift or some gymnastic work and then quickly put it back until I next need it.The quality of each block seems very good and it doesn't easily seem to break away, which means it should last quite a while.

REAL UNSPONSORED REVIEW - Not fit for climbing use
Many reviews praise this chalk for climbing, but my experience has been disappointing. I’ve used it three times, both on its own and with liquid chalk, and found it to be ineffective. It barely lasts past the third hold and is so powdery that it flies everywhere in the gym. I’ve tried different chalks over the years, and this one just doesn’t compare. You’re better off investing in a quality climbing chalk that actually sticks to your hands, rather than one that seems to float away.

Brilliant piece of equipment for grip
I recently tested the Mammal Strength Gym Chalk. This chalk has significantly enhanced my workout experience and has become an essential part of my gym sessions. Additionally, its ability to keep my hands sweat-free during intense workouts is impressive, allowing me to maintain a secure grip on the bar or climbing holds. The chalk blocks are durable, long-lasting, and come in convenient packaging, making them easy to carry in my gym bag without creating a mess. What's more, its versatile use across various fitness activities and virtually odour-free composition. I highly recommend the Mammal Strength Gym Chalk to anyone looking to enhance their training experience. It's a small investment that makes a significant difference in your performance.

Great for Instant Grip
Ever since changing the grips on my badminton rackets to a variety of towel types, I started using liquid chalk to help reduce sweating while getting that extra grip. However, using liquid chalk requires time to dry to get full effect. But drying time is NOT a luxury I have either in between badminton games, much less during towel breaks.I found using this chalk powder by Mammal Strength in combination with liquid chalk to be really effective in drying my sweaty hands and enhancing grip on demand. As this chalk comes in cubes it is easy to break into chunks and keep in a leak proof pouch to avoid making a mess.I’m glad I got the pack of 8 blocks as I see myself using this chalk very regularly for both badminton and the gym.
