HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Been having issues with snakes in my basement, tearing up insulation in the ceiling (these are huge climbing Black Racers, that also are aggressive when confronted.) I've put out flat glue traps for years and caught nothing but an occasional mouse. Called pest control, and none of these 'men' will come deal with this issue for me, so as a 64 year old woman, I am dealing with this on my own, and I've lost sleep and worried over grandchildren this year in particular! This trap is different because of the fold. I put one edge against the wall and the other edge on the shelf where I could see them entering and exiting in the insulation. After YEARS of trying to rid my basement of this or these snakes FINALLY one was caught this morning in the glue trap that folded in on it, actually trapping this large, long snake! HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate those things in my house. They creep me out, I'm afraid they'll bite me even though not poisonous, I do not want to be bitten by anything, especially not these awful snakes that are longer than I am tall in many cases!!! I just ordered 4 more two packs and I'm putting them everywhere I can think of!! Climbing snakes are a whole other ballgame when trying to get rid of them! For those snake lovers who feel sorry for these creatures....I'm happy for them to live anywhere besides on my small property and especially not in MY HOUSE! And no, snakes are not better than mice! And these traps take care of both.

I got this like most because of a snake. Does this work, for me no, but it might for you. 1st it is only a big glue trap like for mice. There is no bait on it. So you will need to buy your own. Mice from the pet store were recommended to me. That was to gross, so I tried eggs with no luck. 2nd if you don't see the snake out daily then you're going to need this to last a while. Make a card board cover for it to keep dust off, which renders it useless. 3rd if using outside it needs to be slightly elevated and covered to keep water and dust off the glue. I can't recommend it, but I can't say it wouldn't work for others.

Did not catch the snake, got 4 mice.

I have a Rat Snake (aprox 3 ft long) in my basement that I did not want to catch barehanded. After reading all the good reviews of this product, I decided to give it a try. About a week in, I saw the snake crawl over the edge of the trap, pulling it's tail right though the glue with no trouble. I decided to leave the traps in place and call a pro to come in and remove the snake. Last night, the snake must have gotten trapped in it temporarily, because I found the trap a couple feet from where I had left it, with the edges of the trap damaged, and snake tracks (or skin) all over it. The "ridges" of the underside of the snake are clearly imprinted in the glue. The product failed. I have a feeling this trap might work for smaller snakes, but not for anything decent sized, despite the picture on the front.

I bought this because my mom was convinced that there was a blacksnake in her apartment. It hasn’t caught any snake, but she has caught the dog twice and it has caught several spiders. It is hard to get off the dogs paws, but it is non toxic so we basically had to let most of it just wear off her feet.
