I've waited while to write this review because I wanted to work with it a bit before giving my opinion. For the record, I have worked with recording hardware dating back to the 90s and then eventually made the transition to software/hardware in 2000. I've since used a combination of both. In addition, I have a background in commercial radio and recording engineering.While I have not delved into all this software is capable of doing, I can give a basic review at this point. First off, you receive a CD so you can install from the disk. I personally chose this option, but had to buy a CD disk player/reader for my laptop as it did not have one. This is unnecessary since there is a way to simply download it from the site and use the Key from your purchase to enable use.Once this process was complete, I was able to open the program and get to work. As long as your audio interface is operational (correct drivers installed and already working with you PC/Laptop), Samplitude should recognize it and allow you to configure based on your preference and needs. I did encounter some issues at first, but it was because my ASIO driver had to be downloaded, installed, and configured. No fault of the software.Once my audio interface was correctly setup, it was very easy for me to get to work. I did not consult the manual much as I was able to use my past experience to figure it out. It was relatively intuitive to use, though it does have a bit dated GUI.This software can do much of what the more popular, better known programs can do albeit there is not as much support or knowledge of this platform. I am confident that a person can use this to record full projects; however, you will need to dedicate a bit of time to learning the work flow and how to best use this software to meet your needs.I previously used most of the top software and some of the top hardware for recording and I will say you can accomplish anything you wish to do using this platform. However, it is a lesser known software (I remember it from way back in the day!) so there isn't as much information available should you have issues.At this point in my life, I make music primarily for fun. In the past, it was part of how I paid my bills. If I still used this type of software as a means of survival, I honestly would choose the top software that most producers/artists have heard of and use. Since I make music mostly for fun and as soundtracks for content creation, it works great for me at an affordable price. Most professional software has moved toward a subscription model or costs quite a substantial amount of money. This is reasonably priced and offers the most important features a producer would need.

Having used several other recording programs, I found this one to have a relatively older look and appearance. Having used other software, I was relatively familiar with how it would work and I was able to somewhat navigate my way around. The primary reason for ordering this software was to connect my Spark amplifier to it for recording, but I was unable to figure it out and finding support for this topic was not very easy. There aren't many online videos on how to use it, so I ended up giving up on it and went back to my old software. I really wanted this to work and maybe I will revisit it at some point, but for now I am using something else.
