Best decodable books!
This is an excellent set of decodable books for beginning readers. My son loved being able to sound out words independently. The stories are entertaining and higher quality than any other decodable book we've read. The endings are often unexpected, in the best way! I taught kindergarten and 1st grade for 12 years, and these books are exactly what beginning readers need to practice with in order to gain confidence in their reading skills.

Best Phonics Readers/Great graphics
I have homeschooled my children for over 18 years. My last child has down syndrome and is non verbal. I wanted to get her used to using her Proloquo2go to read stories and also to help her learn short cvc words. I can tell you that the stories are perfect in length. The catch my daughters attention and the graphics are great. Here is the important thing! When teaching phonics you need to hear the words over and over again. There is just the right amount of times these cvc words are repeated in the stories. This will allow my daughter to learn the words better because of the amount of times they are repeated. She has to hit the button in Proloquo2go as I read the story to her. I can ask her who was the girl or boy in the story and about the story using the books as well. Non verbal children and children who can speak will love learning from these books. Mom's will not fall alseep reading these readers either! The Charge Into Reading Decodable Readers short vowel readers a,e,i,o, and u are just the right length in the story so you don't loose the childs attention. My daughter is 20 years old and the graphics in these books are perfect for special needs children and adults can learn to read from them too! They are well thought out and in the front of the books are the list of the words you will be reading in the books. You can make flash cards and have the children match the words with the story in the books. They can point to the words in the books as you ask questions and so you also build literacy as well as learning to read. The two go hand in hand! words in the stories are also the right size for young readers. Love these readers and will get more in the future! Enjoy them they are well worth the buying!

Perfect for kids who already know the letter sounds
I started with hooked on phonics. I ordered these to expand the library of books she can read herself. I canceled hooked on phonics almost immediately. These books capture her attention and keep her reading & they're much cheaper. I'll be ordering stage B shortly. I love how they break it up into small sections like Beginning reading, vowel sounds & consonant blends. Hooked on phonics was a great start but it moves slowly. My grandaughter was getting bored so I ordered these to keep her interested. 2nd grandaughter just came in Nov. I'll do the same thing. Basics with hooked on phonics & then move on. Adults can tell when they're little ones have gotten it. Then its time to move on to bigger challenges & these books are the perfect next step so they don't get bored. In short I'll keep using the other sets as she advances. If I were a better teacher, we might not have needed hooked on phonics at all but these are great. Teaching little ones is an art form & it skipped me.

Great for learning
These books helped my daughter progress a lot with reading. They are easy enough for her to read without getting frustrated or discouraged but challenging enough for her to stay interested. The activities in the back are also fun and easy and she seemed to really like those

Great readers
I love how each book focuses on one short vowel sound throughout the book. There’s also a few blends and diagraphs that can be discussed with your child. I love them! I am going to use them with my youngest in a few years.

Great way to start letters and sound recognition
great way to start letters recognition with decoding books. The books are pretty flimsy though and could be printed on a better quality considering young children are using them.
