Best Mattress for the Tesla Model Y, especially for larger people like me
I found this mattress comfortable for a tall and heavy person. It is extra long and has a board at the top to support the pillow. I need the high density foam to support my middle section, since I weigh 230 pounds.I've listed 12 reasons you might want to sleep in your Tesla!1. If you live somewhere the power goes out and you don’t have home battery backup (like a Tesla Powerwall) or a generator, you might want to hang out in your car if it is hot out (like in Florida after every hurricane) or cold (like Texas when their power went out in February a couple years ago).2. If you take a long trip, you might want to sleep a couple hours at a rest stop (it’s legal to stay overnight in some areas, but not others). I found the iOverlander.com site to be a handy resource when looking for a place to sleep. This article from The Road Trip Expert gave me some more ideas at places you can stay.3. If you want to camp at a campsite but you are afraid of the cold or heat or rain, or snow or bugs, putting a mattress in a Model Y is a lot cheaper than renting an RV. If the campsite has bathrooms and showers, great, otherwise, it isn’t so great, but you can stop at a truck stop to clean up as you want.4. I visited my son in Orlando a few years ago and didn’t want to sleep on his couch because I didn’t want his cat to bother me, so I slept in the back of my Tesla Model 3 in his parking garage. It was pretty good because I had two foam mattress toppers to make it comfortable. A Model 3 has a lot less space than a Model Y, but it’s fine for one person.5. I went to a conference in Orlando in the summer and I had a meeting at 2pm and then a dinner at 7pm, but nothing to do in between. I brought a small camping pad so that I could nap for two hours in the back of my Tesla Model Y in the parking lot of the hotel. The air conditioning was great, but the camping pad was only a half-inch thick, so it wasn’t very comfortable.6. My son-in-law goes walking on a busy trail in Colorado. People start lining up to enter this trail at 4am. It would be handy to get there and just sleep in the back until the trail opened.7. If you are staying for a bit in a place that has high housing and hotel prices, you might stay in your car for quite some time. You would need to be very organized and do some research to have a plan if you are asked to leave in the middle of the night. I would probably just find a less expensive Airbnb in another neighborhood, but this might work for some people.8. I used to have to drop off my son at school at 7:30am, but my work nearby didn’t start till 9am. I would sleep for an hour in the back seat of my Leaf. Issues were that it wasn’t that large a back seat and I didn’t have window shades and it would be awkward if someone saw me sleeping.9. When I dropped by kids off at a party an hour from my home and needed to pick them up in 3 hours, it wasn’t worth it to drive back home, so I would usually go shopping. If I had a bed in my car, I might take a nap.10. If you have a child or pet in your house that is making too much noise and you can’t sleep, go out to your Tesla and sleep there to get some peace and quiet.11. If you have more guests than your house or apartment can fit, put some of them in your Tesla.12. If your significant other kicks you out of bed, your Tesla may be more comfortable than your couch.

Packable bed
So my husband and I have been looking for one for a while and finally decided on this one and I am glad we did. This one was easy to use, set up, and store. I like how this one is packable so you are still able to use your trunk space. It is also very comfy for a car bed. The material is easy to clean.

The best mattress for a Model Y
I've been using this mattress over the course of the last year for multiple, multi-day, roadtrip adventures and it does not let you down! Two sleep very comfortably on the bed, it has a good amount of foam to make sure it's soft and comfortable, and it's easy to lay out and put away. No need to wait for inflation, need to get a pump, it's just lay it out and sleep! I've had great nights sleep on this bed.I did have some issues with the storage bag zipper that broke but no issues with the mattress itself. It comes with belt straps that hold it down and in place so even though I can't close the storage bag it came in, the mattress is still snuggle and tucking inside.Pros:- Very comfy, feels like a decent bed.- Yes, it fits in the frunk or sub-trunk once put away.- The head section come with a built-in support so that the mattress doesn't droop over the seats- I recommend removing the head rests for additional space and ease of use but not required- The sheet that comes with the mattress is custom fitted to the shape of the bed.- You retain access to the side-well in the trunk.Cons:- The way it folds out does make it a little difficult to access the sub-trunk storage once it's put together but there is enough give to be able to lift the trunk floor and the bed in one go without having to make the bed again- The seem that joins each of three sections of the mattress (per row) is a little fragile so be gentle when pulling on the individual sections. I've found to prevent tearing the treads to grab the entire row with two hands. This could be reinforced in a future design iteration.

Excellent customer service!
We ordered the mattress for our model Y and it had allowed us to sleep / car camp severalTimes in a pinch. Great product. After several months the zipper broke, however and I prepared myself to go into offshore customer service hell. I dialed the contact number and….a real human being (stateside no less) picked up! Not only were they super helpful in trying to help us fix the zipper, sending several videos, etc, but when we were unable to fix they promptly sent a new case and explained that they would work with the manufacturer to fix the problem. All the while they were super friendly. I suddenly felt like I was back in the olden days when you’d buy things from mom and pop operations that really cared about providing good service. Super great experience!

Love it
We’ve spent several nights on this by now. It is comfortable to sleep on, but you don’t wanna be two slightly bigger adults… the space in the Model Y is quite limited after all. But my wife and I fit fine :)

A little hard
. Takes some practice to put it back in bag correctly. Zipper broke first time trying to close it. Like I said tough.Feel the board on the bottom. Not sure if I want to keep them. Possibly be better with a dow comforter over the mattress.I needed to add more cushion to sleep the 2nd night while trying to go camping in my MYLR.I am 280lb and the description states good for heavy people but not. Also find it hard to close my rear door. The middle mattress would cover the latch hook.
