Extremely disappointing product
The locks are absolutely unreliable. We bought two locks from this site and a third one from the producer. One of the first two did not work from the very beginning; it was draining the batteries for few hours. We got it replaced with an unit that had been damaged, so we did not even install it. We had to wait for a second replacement. The third lock we installed about a month ago. It demonstrated a series of faults. A few times it moved in a constantly unlocking itself state producing strange noises. The only way to deal with this was to reset it by removing the batteries. About two weeks after these incidents at a late night it died completely leaving our guests out. They had to wait two hours until we got there to open the door for them using the key. The batteries were at 77% once we reset the lock, so it wasn't batteries' fault. About a week after that incident, one of the other two locks rejected unlocking the door leaving two people out in the middle of the night. The buttons were active but none of the codes were recognised. After unlocking with the spare key, it had to be reset by removing the batteries. We contacted the Lockstate Remotelock support team every time one of these problems occurred, their response was to reset the lock by replacing the batteries. It is obvious that this is not a solution for the cases when people are stranded outside of the property. Luckily, when the people were locked out in one of these occasions, intending to go just for 5 minutes to the nearby shop, they had not left any gas or electrical devices running in the property. Otherwise this could have ended in a real disaster. We notified the producer for each one of these incidents but they did not propose any solution.

Sadly can't be trusted
Been using the 5i. Was ok for 2.5 years but now the door doesn't lock properly. If you lock it yourself, it can be opened by trying the handle 5 to 10 times, which gradually moves the thumb lock inside and then it opens. Another issue was that unknown to us, on arrival it comes preset to open with 1234 which didn't appear on the App. We found out when a guest out stayed their welcome, tried different codes, guessed this one and got back in! Great concept but too unreliable, I'm reverting back to security keys.

Great concept, initially fabulous but now failed and unreliable
I have this lock fitted to the back door and a Lockstate 5i fitted to the front door of my rental property. I am happy with them when they are working as they permit my guest key free access and are very convenient to manage via both the excellent app and website. However, the Lockstate 6i has been seriously unreliable. It was easy enough to install (used a builder to help me) but after a month or two of use started to cause problems. Even with a very strong wifi signal (router is very close to it) it reports failed sync of new access codes and users and hasn't confirmed a new user code sync now for months. In spite of this, codes do seem to be syncing and guests have been able to access. In the past few weeks though a more serious failure has occurred and the whole keypad has gone dead. No response at all to key presses. Lock state seem to know about this and emailed me to say they thought my lock was part of a faulty batch. I have emailed them back to say that it is and to find out about replacement etc. but have heard nothing back. The lock is still under warranty fortunately, so I have now approached the retailer to intervene with a replacement4 or repair. If I didn't have two of these on separate doors it would be a nightmare scenario with guests being unable to access my property (we live around 100 miles away from the rental property).I hesitated to give a poor review, as I really like the lock when it is working. It is very solid, easy to manage and guests love the convenience. However, it has proven so unreliable that I ended up fitting the Lockstate 5i to the front door as I realised the vulnerability of single lock access using these high tech locks and the problems they could cause in the event of sudden unexpected failure. My advice is to have a back up plan if intending to use these smart locks (especially if you are not close to your rental home) - either another smart lock on a second door, or someone nearby able to provide a key to guests (the lock does have a key over-ride which could be used in this eventuality).
