Before you buy / check out low reviews, read:
Hi there. This is the second one of these fans I have purchased in 18 months, so impressed with the first that I bought for my mother that I got myself one. Now if you check the bad reviews of this product, many of them are from folks that had difficulty assembling the item or on occasion had a part missing. Quite how this can be the case in terms of difficulty assembling when it has very few parts I am at a bit of a loss to understand when reading them. So, if you buy this fan, some tips for happy duronic fanning:1. Lay out all the parts, keep in mind you will have to undo a small holding screw that is holding the fanblade and cages together during transport. It seems many have come a cropper due to this.2. Take your time, assemble the fan from the bottom up.3. When it comes to the cage, put the back cage housing on BEFORE you put the fan blades on. Dont forget the nut to hold the cage on the motor housing, then pop your fan blades on.4. Remember, when putting the fan blades on, the fan blade nut tightens counter clockwise.5. When putting on front cage section, do not adjust the rubber strap. Just pop the strap on the front cage section over its lip, hold that up to the back part and you can pull the rubber strap over both cage sections lips. After that you can tighten it via the adjustment screw if needed but it should be pretty ok as it is, unless yours came real lose but the two I bought were fine, no adjustment needed.Missing parts:This happens to many a seller and product, it's life. The fact that people wasted their time and money and carbon emissions sending items like this back for a missing part (as can be seen in reviews) is just bonkers to my mind.My second fan turned up with a missing nut to hold the back part of the cage on the motor housing. I contacted duronics here and told them of a missing part. I expected 48 to 72hrs for a reply but I got one within 12hours of sending, they apologised and sent over an exploded diagram of the fan with the parts you get sent and numbers on them. I sent back the part number I was missing that same day, and they had the part to me within 72 hours after that. What more can you ask for from customer service?? at least give em a chance to solve the problem eh. Sending things back without at least trying to get the missing part, then bad reviewing a good product with good service, is just stupid in my book as such good service is rare, but this is what some are like I guess.Anyway, these are good fans, overpowered for the size, usually 16 inch fans = 40watt motors, these are 60 watt. V few are at this size so if you want a real strong breeze from a relatively small footprint simple to use fan, these would tick that box.Best wishes.and p.s. No, I do not work for duronics, nor do I have any family nor friends nor know anyone who does, don't even know where they are based, but good product and service is worth my time to commend.

Good fan, but construction tested my patience!
Overall not too difficult to put together and didn't take too long to do. The fun bit comes when you have to seal the two outer cases together! I feel it's a poor design and very fiddly as it's hard to get both sides to stay together long enough to get the outer band fitted. Maybe a hook to lock into place or something would be helpful. I got there in the end but there were a few choice words along the way!Once all put together the fan works very well, it's very powerful and would be good for a larger area. If you're looking for a gentle breeze this one may not be for you. Even the lowest speed packs quite a punch. I do find it to be a lot noisier than other fans I've owned.Overall not bad, it does what it's supposed to do. It could do with a longer cable and considering the price it would have been nice to have had the 2 x AAA batteries included!

Great fan!!
I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this fan so I was skeptical. This is the most simple fan I’ve ever put together. As long as you screw everything nice and tight, it won’t wobble or move. Very sturdy, powerful and great price! The only downside for some people is that it’s not very quiet, but I prefer this as I use the fan noise to help me sleep!

Poor build quality
Unable to comment on the remote, timer function & installation as I didnt get that far.Assembly of the back guard and blade is simple and easy and those are the only good points about this product. After growing a third hand to assist with attaching the front guard (not a well designed component ... one of many). I plugged it in to test it out. First thing to point out is the cable. The cable (including plug) is 70cm, considering this is a wall mounted fan you would expect to see a little more cable. Staying with the cable... the exit point. If you happen to have a plug socket in your ceiling then this, like the legnth issue won't be a problem for you, as the cable exit point is through the top of the unit??? Inturn you will lose around 25cm of cable, meaning your "wall mounted fan" will be less than a meter off the ground ... for this price you could get 2 decent tower fans! Moving on to the next issue ... Quality. There are some nice features such as the blade being made of a smoke grey transparent perspex material which does blend in well with the black guard, but again that is as far as it goes. The housing is very cheap plastic (that came pre scratched, thoughtful of them) and the remote seems to be of the same material (didn't unwrap it to tell exactly) but the biggest let down of all was the blade. Unbalanced to the point that this fan is completely unusable and thats before being attached to a wall which no doubt would be plasterboard with a hollow which would only amplify the vibrations
