Ice cream at will
We made ice cream the night this attachment came in the mail! It was plain vanilla but we might try adding more ingredients as we learn the machine. It’s easy to use and easy clean up!

As dreamt 😄 ... hope Nutrimill is listening
This is my review for the Nutrimill Ice Cream Maker attachment for Bosch Universal Plus 800 kitchen machine.Basically, I was looking for a rugged machine that would use ice + sea salt mixture to churn the ice cream. Decades ago, we had one ‘Softel’ ice cream maker and it was serving us good. But they seem to have discontinued the product. These days there are expensive stand alone ice cream makers with built in compressor available. Didn’t want to invest much on the machine as people seemed to have cleaning issues....however, cost was the major factor and I discontinued the idea of investing into such machine.United States seem to have too many options with Hamilton Beach kind of ice cream makers but they are built for 120V AC power supply. Wish someone could build a 220V version for export market.Couple of years ago, tried the ‘keep the container in the freezer for 12 hours’ version of ice cream maker but somehow it did not give the smoother ice cream experience and we dearly missed the ‘Softel’ Ice Cream maker.Suddenly came across the Nutrimill Ice Cream Maker attachment which seemed to address all our requirements. The construction appeared fantastic and Bosch machine was available in 220V AC power supply. To reduce the shipping expenses, I even checked power supply for Nutrimill Artiste Mixer but 220V version was not marketed. So the universal plus 800 with 220V power supply came from Germany and the ice cream maker attachment from the US. Both of them were fantastically packed.Tried to churn out the ice cream today but it did not start well. The plastic wiper arm is removable and gets attached to the cover using split connector that is supposed to be elastic. Poor connector construction that gave away, even before I poured the milk into the vessel. Fixed it using a metal screw as can be seen in the pictures. No more hiccups and we could churn 2 batches of ice cream in 30 to 40 minutes.I understand the product is relaunched and I wish Nutrimill could bring some improvements as below:1. The fixing of wiper arm with a non breakable better design. I understand, it should be removable for cleaning purpose and I guess it could remain stuck in the frozen ice cream, when the machine is stopped and the cover is removed.2. I read in some website that the wiper should not leave more than 1 mm of frozen ice cream layer on the vessel wall, to improve the heat transfer. I felt 3-4 mm layer was formed on the vessel internal wall.3. The cover could be transparent as it is really exciting to see the ice cream getting thicker. It would also help to understand the functioning of wiper.4. The window on the cover could have some pane. I covered the window with my palm, while pouring salt on the ice, to stop the salt getting into the ice cream.5. Not sure, if Copper vessel could improve the heat transfer. Do not know, if copper would survive with ice+salt mixture.Other things that are beyond the scope of this review are, the availability of 220V Artiste Mixer and the availability of ice cream maker attachment outside US, especially at Bosch home country. By the way, this review is from the Middle East.

This makes the yummiest ice cream.
This works really well if you're looking for an ice cream maker and have a bosh machine then I highly recommend getting this attachment to go in it. I can't wait to try it again.

Super easy and delicious
I am an ice cream lover, so when I saw that the Bosch Universal had an ice cream attachment I wanted it. We have had small ice cream makers before and were disappointed. This one is different, it works the same way the old fashion ones did. The ice cream is in the center moving around and the ice and salt are in the outer bowl. We have tried the cooked and the non cooked recipes and both are great. It only takes 20-22 minutes. It is a little soft, so I put it in the freezer for a while to firm up.

Makes soft serve ice cream within half an hour!!
Works great. It is soft serve though and does have to be frozen after the Bosch unit has done it's job. But otherwise, homemade soft serve ice cream within half an hour!! We used half a bag of ice and half a box of rock salt, not bad. We did basic vanilla and added in Heath Toffee Bar Bits towards the end. This is not really very quite, I baffled with a pile of towels, which I think may serve to insulate as well. I'm thinking it may get put into the utility room next time, so I can close the door on the noise.
