This is exactly as described and made really well. I was having a difficult time finding a boom box with A/C adapter rather than a rechargeable battery.It was also difficult to find one with radio and a CD player. It also has an USB port and plays digital audio.Not only does it have all the features I was looking for, it’s also a good price. When I found other players with the features I desired they were a bit more than I wanted to spend.This was a gift for my elderly mother and having to recharge a radio would be hard for her to understand. This is also simple to use. She doesn’t have to remember a ton of steps to choose between playing a CD or playing the radio. It’s not a digital set up, but the click of a switch.This is definitely an excellent choice for people with memory problems or small children. The price is right and it’s an excellent product.I would definitely buy it again and have already suggested it as a gift for three other people.

This is my first ever review. I've purchased many items on amazon and never felt compelled to leave a review until now. Very rarely do you run across a product that is such high quality and also afforadable at the same time. This small gem is a keeper! It packs all the sound of an 80's boombox but yet smaller and hassle free. I purchased others before this one and ended up giving them away to the thrift store. The Philco cd player is the BEST. 5 star! I love it so much I bought a 2nd one. Its ideal for a baby room with one of those ocean waves/ rain cds. Who wants emfs by your newborn with all the super high tech ones that claim to be so great yet are cheap fall apart stuff IMO made to look great and expensive. The sound quality for the size packs a punch with clarity. You can tell a lot of thought went into this little gems creation. I love how portable it is. Its so easy to use. Anyone, kids through grandparents age will find it a keeper. Im a busy person but just had to take a minute to write a review as so many other peoples reviews have helped me. But to be honest this will probably be the only review I ever do. I was so impressed with everything I just had to. Just in case you are wondering, I'm not paid anything to write this. I appreciate being able to use it inside, plugged in, while I'm working in the kitchen, but also being able to carry it outside, using batteries, and listen to my audiobook or music CD's. Streaming isn't so easy in rural areas where connectivity is spotty and unreliable.

I could not return it because it was after the return date when I found out it only worked for a few hours.I ordered another Philco Portable CD Player Boombox on June 25 to find this one didn't work long either, but I was able to return this one and receive a refund.So here I sit with a none working Philco Portable CD Player Boombox that I purchased April 10th and am also out $29.99.If you buy this product, make sure you try it out and use this product "a lot" before the return date expires.Very disappointed!!!

It's great! Plays my cd's, just what I wanted

This radio is perfect for me. It is not too big & it has great sound quality. I can play it with the batteries or plug it in. Very good purchase.

The price, size, and cd sound quality are fine. I could not pick up the radio station I listedened to on my previous boombox. There is no station indicatot. To find the choices of cd, radio, etc. one has to turn the box on its side and still pretty much rely on touch since the buttons are small and black on black. I would spring for a more expensive, more user friendly boombox next time.
