Sturdy, easy to grip, protective!
Excellent smart phone case! I have used these for years because they don't slide around, are easy to grip, and have saved my phone several times! So glad that they had a model for my new phone.

Nice balance of features - ignore the mediocre reviews.
I'm honestly not sure why this case has some mediocre reviews - it's one of the nicest cases of this type that I've owned - and I've had every generation of Note/Ultra since the Note 5. Its not super thick, but offers plenty of protection on all sides. There is enough of a "lip" around all sides of the front that you should be ok if you drop the case screen down. I love the grippy ridges on the side, and the material feels really upscale. It does accumulate some fingerprints and I would have liked a bit more coverage for the camera, but those are minor concerns. The only way this case could be seriously improved would be if Speck offered a free holster. Another big issue, to me, is the case is quite expensive for what you get. I'm loving the case, but its definitely on the high end of the price range. Anyway, if you don't care about cost, a big thumbs up from me.Edit: just to follow up on some of complaints here - the main issue is that the back of the car is now flat in the center with ridges that fold in instead of out. That's not because Speck is cheaping out - it allows Qi charging. The case needs to have a flat surface to make a proper bond with a qi pad. This is a feature folks, not a limitation.Quality case - one of the best available for the Ultra 23.

I like it so far
Update: I have had this case on my phone for almost a year and I have dropped my phone numerous times and my phone is fine. The case is definitely grippier in my hand than it first appeared. Most of the drops had nothing to do with the grip but more with me knocking it off of things. I would definitely recommend this case for the Samsung Galaxy s23 Ultra.I am a Spigen gal. The Spigen on my Note 9 has lasted for years, protecting my phone from drops. Despite ALL the reviews that said their quality went down, I ordered 4 different Spigens hoping they were wrong. They weren't. One was crappier than the next. I looked at the Otterboxes, which were either flimsy, or clunky and ugly. Then I saw this Spigen and remembered I'd had one a long time ago. This case is exactly what I wanted. It is tough on the outside but has a cushion layer inside. It has extra protection on the corners. It is not bulky and feels nice in my hand. If you use your phone like a basketball like my daughter does, the grip on this one might not be enough. I'll have to see what happens at the first drop.

LOVE THE CASE...HATE COLOR SELECTION!
I cannot say enough good things about Speck phone cases. I have used them for years on all my phones and they have helped my phone survive some spectacular fumbles and drops. They feel secure in your hands due to the unique ribbed soft surface. Great product! BUT MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHY DO I HAVE TO PICK FROM THE THREE DREARY COLORS AVAILABLE? There are some of us out here who would love to have a phone that DOES NOT blend into the scenery! What would it hurt to have a nice vibrant RED...with white ribs that could be spotted easily on a cluttered surface? Something cheerful as well as dignified. I purchased a new Samsung Ultra 23 a month ago to replace my older Ultra. The older phone had a Speck case in white with black ribs...the case with the most contrast I could find. For the new one I decided to go red. I found one with good reviews and many of the same design, safety & drop features of the Speck. Beautiful case, really sturdy, easy to find when I put it down. I used it for about a month and really enjoyed the bright cheerful color. Sadly, when you buy a phone this expensive, you want the most protection you can provide...and that to me means Speck. I've seen first hand the protection it provides. So now I am the resentful (not proud or happy) owner of dull blue Speck case. Come on now guys...can you not provide at least one bright color? I have given my sturdy valued dreary Speck case 4 stars...because every time I have to hunt it, I can't help but think about that cheerful red case!

Great case
I installed a specific screen protector, and it's perfectly placed and doesn't interfere the corner of the screen where the edge of the screen protector touching the corner of the phone case which in over time cause the screen protector to lift off the surface over time.

Good product, not what it was though...
I think Spek is experimenting with different grip textures every year or two. The case I had for my S8+ was the best grip case they made. The case for S21 ultra was less grippy but more durable, the texture didn't fall off the case which was good. The new case for the S23 ultra took the same idea only instead of having the grip ridges raised from the case, they are cut into the case. Think mountains vs canyons. I think the case is still good, just not as good as previous models.

Good protection but not what it used to be.
I used these cases on my phones for years. They were excellent protection with amazing grippy ridges to keep a snug grip on your expensive phone. They have a slim fit to make them easy to slide out of a pocket or purse. But these new cases are made differently. The material is harder and the ridges are more rounded, which makes the cases more slippery. They fit the phone very snugly--perhaps too snugly. These cases are EXTREMELY difficult to remove. I worry that I might damage my phone while struggling to get the case off. I will not use one of these cases in the future.

Perfect case for a good price
This is the first case I've tried that has high enough raised edges. It doesn't slip out of my hand and has a nice sleek design. It's raised around the camera and has space for a tempered glass camera protector. It comfortably covers the edges of the screen.
