Not fit for purpose
I had high hopes of the Secueye CCTV IP camera. It promised many features for a keen price. But before it was delivered I received a message from the manufacturer telling me that I had to install a phone app and then create an account before even connecting it.I had bought the camera to connect to my computer for local surveillance, not for Internet, and not for the service or interference of the manufacturer or others. In desperation I did install the app and create an account. It then wanted my WiFi password, which it would not have needed if it just wanted to access the Internet. I did detect a live IP address for it, but it would not respond to it. It should have simply given me a pseudo-web page to make settings and get it working. All this control nonsense seems to me to be a blatant mechanism for setting up a spy device. It certainly is not advertised as such a restrictive product.
