While I prefer Innervisions, this is a classic - and guessing it is in the top 100 albums ever recorded (Innervisions is in the top 50). The great thing about these albums is you can start to play and you'll listen right the way through. The album's sales wordage should say when it was remastered as there will be more remasters later I am sure and for sure they will sound different. This version sounded fine - no complaints - not brittle at all, very listenable. Happy.

I so like Pastime Paradise track 8 on this 2CD release of the 1976 album. Motown, Detroit, the emancipation of man and his brother. The 1970s saw Blackxploitation movies; I recall the huge hair in the then familiar afro haircut. Black culture is one that will readily use wigs to improve the look of the hair. I like afro cuts -not against extensions however and the added aesthetic values create stunning looks. Stevie Wonder has a relaxed and joyous relationship to the music he writes. It's akin to an underlying jazz quality and could be argued to be seen as MOR. Yet, fine lyrics -Isn't She Lovely - and explorative musical strophes make this reissue one to consider. I also recommend Talking Book released a few years earlier. The love tale of Ordinary Pain is almost metaphysical.

I've always loved this album but not owned a copy for a long time until downloading it from Amazon (it was at a bargain price) . Full of classic Stevie Wonder songs , its the final album in the run of great S.W. albums that includes Talking book , Innervisions and Fullfillingness First Finale. Having said that , what struck me listening to this now is that there was an element of self indulgence here that a few fades on the long tracks would have cured .. there a few tracks that just go on too long after the song itself has long finished leaving S.W. and the band to jam on relentlessly or just repeat the same line ad-nauseam. Still, get the album at te right price and you'll love it - you can always skip to the next track if you get tired of the long fades. I did :-)

The range and variety of songs is very wide and it is so well paced. Listening to the deprivation described in Village Ghetto Land its hard to think this refers to places in the richest country on earth, yet the arrangement still creates an uplifting feel. Another Star has the most joyous grove which brings a great smile even after all these years. I could go on… I bought it as a teenager when it was first released in 1976 and have never stopped playing it. Even for what was effectively five sides of vinyl, back then it was a very full price - I recall it was referred to as 'Songs to the tune of £7.50'. Audacity was unable to rescue my old vinyl effectively so this reissue was most welcome. I have rated five stars because as an an MP3 download at £1.99 it is excellent value for money for what is a magnificent piece of work. It would be a good buy for old guys like me who want to look back, but also for anyone of any age wanting to hear for the first time the best work of a great artist.

This High Fidelity Pure Audio disc has to be the best version of this album I have heard glorious 96/24 sound captures all of the nuances of the album so well.The music is so well known that I cant really write about it the hits 'Sir Duke' and 'Isn't she Lovely' are stand outs as is the 'Pastime paradise' which younger viewers might recognise as something else.While the sound quality is excellent, disc presentation is kind of strange with a horrible menu and no track details, just a track number to pick from.The disc auto starts on the LPCM track which is great, but why also include DTS MA and Dolby True HD when they are all effectively the same, though on some players Dolby THD suffers from a horrible Dai-norm issue, because it was predominately designed as a film encoding and not for music.For me a 5.1 mix would have been the icing on the cake again a wasted opportunity.Despite the above I have to give this 5 stars this is a great release and after all it is the sound that counts.

Sobre a obra artística não há o que ser dito, além de maravilhosa!A entrega foi muito rápida, o pacote chegou a mim sem nenhum amassado ou sinal de batidas.Os discos estão em perfeito estado, não sei muito sobre a parte técnica desta prensagem em particular, mas para meus ouvidos está perfeita:Quente e com agudos muito definidos e limpos.Com um som muito detalhado e bem gravado.Minha versão é foi produzida na Alemanha (eu particularmente sempre gostei das prensagens Alemãs), então aqui não há nada que desabone o trabalho.Comprem de olhos fechados, além de ser um álbum duplo conta com um disco 7' bônus e um livreto em um álbum gatefold. Muita qualidade e um lindo trabalho!

Prima di tutto: album spettacolare, fra i migliori di quel periodo e non solo, il periodo classico di Stevie Wonder è imprescindibile, difficile non amarlo anche per chi non è particolarmente vicino ai generi che tocca.Per quanto riguarda la spedizione e l'imballaggio era impeccabile, peccato però che ho dovuto fare un reso poiché il primo disco aveva un difetto gigantesco sul lato A che lo rendeva impossibile da riprodurre. Il difetto è senza ogni dubbio imputabile alla casa discografica e purtroppo accade anche se non dovrebbe. Per fortuna i resi sono sempre più semplici da organizzare e in meno di 24 ore a domicilio ho consegnato il disco difettoso e ricevuto quello nuovo. Ascoltato tutto con attenzione ed ora è esattamente come doveva essere. Amazon ha lavorato bene, per questo dò cinque stelle, l'inconveniente non aveva alcun legame con loro. Nota: il reso era possibile farlo anche mesi dopo, senza alcun costo e potendo comunque avere già la nuova copia.Suggerisco l'acquisto, è molto molto difficile ormai trovare questo album ad un prezzo minore. Va bene che è un triplo (considerando l'EP 33 giro) ma trovarlo quasi sempre vicino ai 70 euro non mi sembra ok.Quindi, in fin dei conti, apprezzo estremamente l'album e Stevie stesso, ovviamente, ma la casa discografica ultimamente spinge i prezzi molto più su di altre, che pure producono grandi dischi.Detto ciò non ho che da consigliarlo, godetevelo lentamente vista la sua durata, potrà essere sempre uno dei migliori nella vostra collezione.
