Solid body and pivot. Highly recommended.

Awesome field case!
Really helps to prevent lighter fluid evaporation much better than a steel Zippo case. One good fill lasts 3 times longer? The fit of the top of the lighter is as tight as can be expected. Seems to make a good seal with the gasket. Haven’t had any issue with the top of the lighter melting.

Does not seal properly
As others have written on here, the cap has a rubber seal but it does not seat properly when in the closed position allowing fuel vapor to escape and ensuring your lighter will be dry after a couple days. This case is no better than your standard Zippo caseWaste of money.

Improvement over gen 1
The media could not be loaded. Overall more robust design than the first generation PyroVault.

Looks cool, melted first light
The rubber gasket to keep fluid from evaporating melted the first time I lit the lighter. Because lighter fluid leaked from around the edges.

Excellent for extending fuel life
Plastic is an interesting choice for a replacement of a steel or brass lighter casing, and it certainly will melt if you are not careful during use. As an emergency tool or just something to get a fire started quickly it works great and conserves fuel much longer than a standard flip lighter case.

Flimsy garbage, do not buy…
This thing cost $34 and it legitimately feels like something you’d get out of a claw machine at the arcade. The plastic feels cheap, it’s thin. The lighter insert it uses from Zippo that I bought also doesn’t work and you cannot return it. You’re forced to deal with Zippo directly who fruitlessly try and have you debug a clearly broken insert. Do yourself a favor and buy something else, anything else. If you’re buying this as a prepper or outdoorsy type person this whole combo is a joke. If you use the lighter fluid I can assure you it will dry out and quickly. There’s no gasket whatsoever just a fragile rib to form a semi-tortuous path. These folks should stick to their cell vaults, overpriced but at least feel like more value for money. This one feels like a naked cash grab…
