I got this for my son for Christmas. He'd had a previous lightsaber style toy and enjoyed it, but it only lit up and extended. This toy also lights up and extends, but it has additional colors to choose from, makes swooshing noises when it's swung, and when it hits something it makes an additional contact noise. So much more fun! Honestly, I thought it would be one of those gifts that is used for a moment and then put down, but it wasn't. He loved it and has been swinging it around all the time since. The added features make the toy that much more fun to play with and I'd recommend it to any Star Wars fan or just for kids who like to pretend.The only thing I didn't like about the unit was that there is a VERY tiny screw that holds the battery door shut. Typically these are held in once you unscrew them so that they don't fall out onto the floor and roll into some dark corner as mine did. However, the battery door also as a very simple plastic "latch" for lack of a better term. So, even without the screw, it stays shut. The screw is black so if you've got a house where an object that small can easily get lost in the shadows, I'd recommend making sure you're installing the batteries in a place that you will be able to find a tiny lost screw should you drop it!

There is no rhyme or reason to these things in terms of how to turn the sound off (and the sound is super annoying and makes noise non-stop no matter if the saber is being swung or not). Long presses for any length of time doesn't do anything. If you just keep pushing the color changing button, you will eventually find a setting where sound is muted, but it is random luck at that point which color it is on. Very disappointed.

These are fantastic! My kids love these! They change many different colors and make noise when they touch. The price can't be beat. Just be careful not to be too rough with them because they are plastic and will break easily.

It did the job for my child’s costume and was great for the money.

This worked. But I didn't realize the blade is squared and not round. It also doesn't come out if you flick it. Ypu have to pull the blade out with your hand. Otherwise it works good. But if you're looking for something that's like the star wars lightsabers this may not fit that. It's nice that the colors can change and the sounds are good!

Satisfied overall. It was needed as part of a gift theme for an adult, so long term use wasn’t a concern; it’s still functioning fine, however. The only complaint is that there were no instructions; I was never quite sure how to turn it off and had to keep pressing buttons until the desired color and sound abatement I desires was achieved. .

My grandson loves his new sword. Hard press to turn off lights and sound, one press to turn both on.
