Amazing
Fantastic sander. Low wattage for energy use but does the job perfectly. Sands down multi filler smooth as can be ready for painting and collects a fair bit of the dust as well 👍 I’ve always gone with Makita in the past as was brought up with that from my old man. But much prefer Bosch Professional products myself now.

It works as described
Works very well, not too noisy, comfortable & easy to use and the dust box is surprisingly good! For the price a better selection of included sanding sheets would have been welcome!!!

Great corded sander, with a variety of shoe options
The Bosch GSS 160 Multi is a great little sander that performs well. The tool comes in a high quality case and has three options of shoes for a variety of sanding pads. The dust extraction works well if used with a decent shop vac. The included dust capture bag isn't really worth using as it won't without any suction it won't suck up very much. The sander is comfortable to use, the rubber grip has a comfortable shape and fits nicely into the hand. The power cord is decent quality and has at least a couple of meters of length. A tool is included for changing between the square, rectangular and delta plate. This is relatively easy to change, but most people will stick to one pad shape. Any type of hook and loop sanding paper can be used to you are not limited to the expensive 1st part sheets. A tool in included for cutting the correctly positioned holes for the square pad. This works OK, but is not short enough to actually pierce most sand paper. I have found that I need to make an initial hole with a screwdriver before using the tool to widen these to the correct size. While to tool does not have a huge orbit movement it is quite effective so long as you have sharp sand paper. The tool is a good size and shape for most tasks unless you need to remove a large amount of material from a larger surface. In that case a random orbit sander will be much more efficient, but at the cost of size, weight and noise. The price is quite reasonable for the quality of the tool and the three year warranty for all Bosch power tools gives peace of mind.

7 out of 10 :)
When I'm using this tool I run it for about 2 hours per day, 2 months of the year. I 'upgraded' to this version because the Home & Garden version of this sander couldn't cope with the workload, and two of them literally burned out while I was using them, after only a couple of months. From that point of view this Professional version seems better and more robust, and after running it for a month it still seems to be going strong. The main problem I have is that it usually loses its grip of the hook&loop sanding pads within a couple of minutes. I get left with an otherwise perfectly good sanding pad, that can't be used on this machine any more because it just drops off. Presumably it's a combination of the gripping surface of the sander plus the oscillation motion/speed. It's a real shame, because with the Home & Garden version I could use the sanding pads for hours before I needed to replace them.I've seen other reviews here which recommend switching to the square sanding plate instead, so I might try that.Another problem is that the holes don't seem to match up with the standard-shaped sanding pads. Maybe that's why a hole-making tool is included? All the same, it's another instance of breaking something that worked perfectly on the Home & Garden version.Good points though:- Decent length of cable- Does a nice agressive sanding job (my workspace is absolutely covered with dust, now, and I'm glad I've got a full breathing mask)- Dust collector is easier to remove and clean than the Home & Garden version- Choice of sanding plate shapes- Seems robust enough to use for regular work rather than occasional hobbies/DIY

Brilliant
I use it with the Bosch dust extractor for stripping furniture and they are both great ! the sanding pads are quite expensive but I've found the Festool and Mika pads are the same fit (both are 7 holes) for the mouse foot option and are cheaper !!

Light and easy to use
Excellent small tool that can deal with large sanding jobs, easily. Used for woodwork and walls after plastering, and it made light work of the task

Doesn't fit in the L-Boxx
Decent enough sander. Dust capture is not great. Most disappointing though to find that with the square sanding plate on you can't close the lid of the L-Boxx. Odd considering this is the plate most people will surely use most of the time, and it means you have to undo four screws and remove the plate every time it goes in the box, then screw it all back together again each time you want to use it. I emailed Bosch about this apparent design fault but received no reply.Edit: they replied eventually, and after me sending them a video demonstrating the problem they agreed that its defective, the box doesn't fit the tool. They did not offer to make it right though, they just agreed and said there was nothing they could do about it and goodbye. Shocking; what kind of company doesn't care that it's selling defective products?Luckily I've avoided cordless tie-in for the most part so can switch to Makita or someone else.
