Does not work and hard to return
Ordered item, and it did not work, brought to UPS to return, but they would not take it because I did not have the original cardboard box. It came in, because I opened it. Ordered a second one, it also did not work.I tried to return it to a local Amazon drop off point, but they would not except it.Avoid this product at all cost, run run

Very cool light up sword
Very cool sword! The metal handle feels very solid and durable. The colors are great and it's easy to toggle through the colors. The sound is reactive based off movement or hitting objects. Small movements don't make sound, they need to be big, strong movements. The Hum sound is a bit fake and annoying unless you are dualing.Love that this recharges and doesnt rely on alkaline batteries!

Mostly good for display, not as durable as we'd hoped.
My daughter was excited to see this as her sister was able to buy a lightsaber from the Southern California resort. She likes the overall feel, including the metal handle which feels nice. The hilt is small enough to allow one-handed use, while the resort-purchased saber requires both hands. She also liked the ability to choose and change the color easily, unlike the resort saber which is locked to one color. The sound effects were good at first, but with relatively light "dueling" (I promise, this wasn't teenage boys hitting hard with it, but pretty gentle dueling), the sound died within a day. The saber also started coming out of the handle pretty easily.Probably best for display and costumes rather than for pretend dueling.

Quality it's not there
Broke very easily pretty cheap. I would recommend getting a better one worth the buy. Barely even dropped it and the insides are now moving around, speaker broke loose

Would be great for cosplay or as a fan film prop
Light saber toys have been around for a long time and come in three general categories: 1) toys for kids, 2) replica-grade for collectors and cosplayers, and 3) expensive toys for adults that want something in-between with qualities of both. This saber is in the third category. In the attached photos, the blue-bladed toy is for comparison only. This saber is red in one photo (On) and white (Off) in the other.Years ago I had seen a collector-grade saber and it had a glass tube blade with animated lighting effects and some awesome sounds. This is nowhere near that level of detail, but it is still far better than the toys that I grew up with. The hilt is metal, and contains the functional parts - LED light, speaker, battery, charging port, power button, sensors, etc. It seems very sturdy, but the design is very simple and doesn't match the details seen in Star Wars. So it's not a replica. The package includes a roll of tape to wrap the handle for added grip or style, but I haven't figured out the best way to apply it yet so I've left it off for now.The blade is a translucent white plastic tube with a rounded plastic tip. The tip is a slightly different shade of white than the rest of the blade, and it seems to be glued on. The small discrepancy at the tip is forgivable because the rest of the blade lights up so evenly, colorful and bright, that I am very impressed. I do worry that repeated use (battling) might weaken the glue and loosen the tip, but I haven't experienced it yet.The sound effects are a bit weird. It has sounds for on, off, hum, swing, strike and color-change. Some of them are good while others are just out-of-place. The hum is too quiet. The color-changing sounds like dogs barking. The swing and strike sounds are tough to get working... the handle has trouble recognizing the movements unless they are very pronounced.Pros:- Light up blade is even and colorful. Makes it fun to just swing it around and watch the colored blur.- Multiple colors to choose from all included.- Sturdy metal handle and plastic blade - suitable for action.- Rechargeable battery included and pre-installed.Cons:- Some sound effects are out-of-place.- Sound effects are overall too quiet.- Blade tip is not part of the same mold as the rest of the blade. This is a toy that features some of the lighting and sound effect features of the expensive prop replicas, but you can actually play with it. This would be a great prop for cosplay at a sci-fi convention or use in a low-budget fan film (just be sure to put it on mute mode and add the sound effects in post). The price point is far lower than the collector-quality sabers.
