Good stand
This was a replacement for my really old Antex stand, the base is not as heavy as my old stand but I soon sorted that. It's still a quality product. Many thanks.

Works fine, but somewhat on the light side, so I added a piece of lead sheet under the sponge.Why the price has increased 20% since last month may remain one of life's unsolved mysteries.

Good reliable basic soldering iron stand.
I've had one of these stands for over 20 years that I bought from Maplin when it was still on the go and this is to replace a well hammered, well worn original.

Need dimensions to see if a particular soldering iron will fit
It did not fit my soldering iron. Some description of the diameter of the rings would have helped

Probably needs a weightier base!
I bought this together with the Antex Xs25 soldering iron for my railway modelling, and have to say I'm a little disappointed. The soldering iron with a rather stiff cable is quite weighty and puts considerable strain on this bench stand. As I'm soldering wire to the track I need to move the soldering iron to different parts of the layout so can't fix the base to a workbench which is probably what is needed to keep the whole set-up safe. As it is, it's a little precarious and could tip over at any time. Is there a better product solution for railway modelling? I don't honestly know!
