Very convenient, short on ports
A must have if you have a home office and also take you MacBook on the road. I don't know why hardware makers seem to struggle including plenty of USB ports, but I do not hold against them. I still have an ugly dongle USB extender to use, but it's still convenient to slide the notebook in place if the dongle is already connected.Great design, looks great on the desktop.

Damaged My MacBook, Total Failure
This $229.99 Ascrono Dock for my 2024 16” MacBook Pro (M4 Max) was a disaster. It failed to charge my laptop due to a loose MagSafe connector and wouldn’t connect to my monitor or peripherals. The tight fit scratched my brand-new MacBook, and the website never clearly warned I’d need to remove my protective cover. Worst of all, this faulty dock destroyed my MacBook’s MagSafe and Thunderbolt ports, confirmed as the cause, leaving me with a hefty Apple repair bill. It’s now a useless paperweight. Avoid this overpriced, misleading product at all costs—protect your MacBook and choose a reliable USB-C hub instead.

Need to buy your own CABLES.
Be aware this does not come with any cables . I imagined that like most docks it would come with at minimum of a USB-C to X cable; however, you will need to get that yourself. 4 out of 5 stars as there is no mention of it and is standard practice, meaning you cannot even verify/validate operability out of the box.

We have 2 now and they work perfectly
We've got a pair of these at our office and they both work perfectly. We were previously using just the macbook holders where you still had to plug in the cables by hand and it was tedious if they were in an out of meetings where they were constantly unplugging and pluggin back in cables. This dock does that for you, has a nice secure feeling connection and lets us keep those wires neatly tucked away. Yes it's on the pricey side but it's built well and does exactly what you want it to do.

Makes switching easier, but still glitchy
works well with regard to fit and general operation. My display at times goes out and then comes back on, I have played wit the cable but that did not fix it. Also if you have a powered external drive, anytime your computer goes to sleep, it will read your drive as being incorrectly ejected. I got 40 messages over one weekend. Have not found a fix for this. Have tried different hubs and cables. Got the number of times I received this notice decreased, but still happens.

A Great Dock!!
Although it is a little pricey, this dock has worked great for me so far! I come to work and plug it in - BAM! I'm in business. Having the ports on one side still available is a great bonus.I do have 3 peripheral USB HUBS to connect all of my gear directly and one daisy chained to another. This is mostly to get 3 separate monitors that can all run their own - no mirroring. A mess of wires on the backside which I'd rather not have (open to product suggestions to achieve this more simply!!)On the front end though, it's all plug and play by just inserting my MacBook
