Good liner, excellent and useful insert.
I possibly should have used a tape measure, rather than just guessing (poorly, as it turned out). However my error meant that we were able to double it up - so extra protection against possible tears. However, the liner seems robust enough that the one layer wouldn't have caused me any concerns. It wasn't too stiff either - could be fairly easily moved into place, and then folded down where creases formed. It arrived promptly, with a useful insert about setting up a pond, but also how many fish per square foot and the preferred depth. (More digging for my husband - but at least we know the fish will be better looked after). Thanks very much.

worthwhile product
This pond lining is an exceptional product, it was easy to work with and has left me with a pond that looks to have a quality finish to it. Highly recommended

Pond liner
I bought this liner to replace my old liner as a Heron punctured the previous liner. For the price it is excellent value, but the material is not as thick as my original, but I laid this over my old liner so it does the job.If you are going to use this on a new pond, make sure you get a good underlay as well, as with the weight of the water it could easy puncture if there was a small stone. Also the guarantee would not be valid.Great product at the price.

Cheap and mostly cheerful
Good starter liner.Your excavation MUST be smooth sided with NO stones, roots or sharp objects. The liner is fine provided you observe this - but thats not going to be easy in urban areas. Some old carpet or similar would make a good thick underlay to install first.Anything put into the pond ie rocks pond equipment must have a smooth base too. That said it does its job and looks okay.Im not sure how trustworthy the 25yr warranty is but by then I shall be dead anyway....;-}The instructions supplied are easy to follow and the material is easy to trim.I used a spare offcut to conceal the pump hose just weighed down the submerged end with a few smooth stones.I chose this because of its amazingly low price and that I can work around the caveats mentioned above. If you feel you cannot then youd be better off getting a mortgage for a real butyl type.

Fragile
This liner is not worth bothering with. I have had it for only 8 years and it has a 2 cm cut below the water line requiring me to take it out and put in a new thicker stronger and probably much more expensive liner. It is very flexible and easy to fit and trim but when weighed against the fragility it is not useful.

LESS THAN 0.5MM THICK.
I gave this one star purely because they fail to mention to the customer what it is made out of and how thick it is... which is very important!People who are working to a budget and can't afford to spend more on a liner need to know (more than anyone!) what exactly they are spending their hard-earned money on.I had to search a bit to find this information, the PondKeeper catalogue I got with my 5x4m LDPE Flexiliner mentions under its PVC Pond Liner that it is 0.5mm... 'Thicker than LDPE but not tearproof'.So it is LESS THAN 0.5MM THICK - you will need multiple underlay and probably some kind of overlay too to protect it as much as possible. And then just pray!I'm just about to look into how I can do this, it's very fragile from what I can see and almost anything could puncture it and devastate an ecosystem/waste a whole load of time/money.Now I know there is a reason people spend much more on a decent pond liner. And maybe also why people on average incomes don't usually have beautiful ponds in their gardens!

Worth every penny
Bought for parents to renew the garden pool (no they are not Tory MP's), plenty to spare and Dad was happy when fitting it.Compared to local Garden centre this was bigger, cheaper and with better warranty and as my dad says if it last ten years he will be happy (and that means I don't get grief from my mother, well as much grief:-) ).All in all satisfied customers and to be honest he was over the moon with delivery and the notice they got.5 stars
