Works perfectly and was easy to set up. Only issue I had (no fault because of product) is that it's not compatible with 1600 x 900 resolution monitors. It still works for me but at a downgraded resolution (720p).On the upside has four usb ports which allow other usb devices.

This is my second adquiring of a Basicolor Extender. I bought this second unit to have a spare device for the first one I bought since 2019. Basicolor is wide compatible, stable and easy to implement device.Allow me to share my experience, the last week a strong thunderstorm caused damage to several electronic devices here at the office and no matter the power protection we have instaled, a lot of devices of our CCTV sistem resulted burn. And... guess what... the Basicolor device we use to extend the HDMI and USB connection from DVR survived.Basicolor!!!! Highly recomended!!!

The USB function of this extender works fine, but the picture quality of the HDMI signal is definitely NOT lossless as the listing states. The compression seems to adapt to how much detail is on the screen, and looks especially bad around text. It also won’t handshake properly with any monitor that I tried on it. Buy literally any other extender if you care about picture quality.

This does the thing, pretty well, sometimes gets odd and laggy:I work for a theatre and needed a way to get a monitor, keyboard and mouse down stairs during our tech and cuing process. This was a pretty cheep and easy solution.Every couple of days I had to go and reset the power, because digital gack would build up. The last time used the system everything was pretty laggy. Like .5 to .8 seconds off. I was able to muddle mu way though things.I wasn’t expecting much for the cost. It works pretty well, but not as consistently as I want it to. If you’re looking for a temporary fix for something this is fine, but for longer term solutions go with a bigger name.

I used this balun kit over a stranded Cat6A cable with 'ez-crimp' push-through RJ-45s, and INITIALLY got no video on a 160ft run. After swapping for a solid CAT6, and the RJ-45s for the 2 piece solid cable connectors, I still had no video... My monitor only had DVI-D connection and I was using an HDMI to DVI-D cable, and this ended up being my problem. After swapping in an old HDMI TV that supported 1080, I got a great video connection and was able to use the included cable to extend my Keyboard/Mouse/Flash memory. It took a while for me to figure out what I can and cannot connect, but the product works very well so far.

Even though you don’t need them, the link to download a .pdf guide from their website doesn’t work. And cross your fingers if it goes south after the Amazon return period expires because you’re not going anywhere on the company’s cheaply made website.USABILITY/PERFORMANCEAfter testing, it did work as expected and better. Plug in the included power adapter into the transmitter unit (it’s marked with a TX), then whatever USB device(s) you want connected using the included cable and a CAT6/6e cable to the receiver and boom! You’ve got video! I plugged mine into a desktop computer using an HDMI cable and was able to use a wireless keyboard (I plugged the USB dongle into the receiver) and cast video plus sound to a 50” TV in my office in just a few minutes.QUALITY/RELIABILITYIt is well-built and hope its components are as good in the inside as it looks on the outside. In the few days I’ve been using it I haven’t seen any hiccups. This was a totally unexpected experience since I was planning to use it for something else and it worked so well that I switched my plan. I’m thinking of ordering a second to fulfill my original idea but, I don’t know if I want to pay its asking price.VALUE/PRICENow for the hard part. Is it worth the price as of this writing ($110)? Maybe. If you’re looking to control video, sound and connected and use it as a KVM like I am doing now, it’s a YES! KVMs have gotten very expensive now days. Now, will I pay that for what I was thinking of using for when I ordered it (that is to stream Amazon Video or something else to a projector in the patio), probably not!VERDICTAt the end because of lack of future support if it breaks, with the thinnest of margins between 4 and 5 starts, it’s 4 from me.
