Q: Will the lights work whilst charging?

Dear customer, the lamp can be turned on during charging. But we don't recommend as so, it's better the discharging and charging don't run at same time to protect the life time of battery. Thanks!

Q: Do i need to buy a separate charger for this item or just plug it into a usb socket to charge. if yes, what sort of charger and where can i buy one.

Dear customer, thanks for your question. You don't need to buy extra special charger. This lamp can be charged by USB connection with your own mobile phone charger (5V 1A/2A ouput) or computers or power bank or USB power socket. Thanks for your understanding.
