You have to put a AA battery in it but there is nothing to configure. Does everything you want it to do flawlessly. I have a 65 inch OLED Samsung TV just over one year old and the buttons on the solar remote that came with it stopped responding. This remote is a bit bigger (because of the battery compartment) and feels better in my hand than the old one. All the buttons are in same place and function the same way. It did not come with any instructions - even though there really is nothing you need to do it would have been nice to have a slip of paper that told you that you have to put a battery in it and then just start using it. We shouldn’t have to figure this stuff out by reading other people’s reviews - which is what I did - and what you’re doing *LOL*

The old tv remote, finallly gave. So, I started researching. I couldn't find a OEM remote. This order, comes with 2 remotes. I figured if the TV can out service the remotes, I may need a second one. Well, the remotes did not come with instructions to set them up. Well, to my surprise! The remote was pre-programmed, so I did not need the instructions after all. It does have a slight delay when pushing the buttons, but not by much. I would buy again. I hope I'm not speaking to soon.

After 10 (or so) years, the original remote stopped working.Ordered this one and from the second we put batteries in it started working.It is an exact replacement for the original Samsung sound bar with sub woofer.Might order a second one to have on hand in another 10 years.Shipping/delivery was fast, 2 days.

I have a Samsung series 8 plasma tv & it worked great. So easy-I didn’t have to pair it, just added two AA batteries & both remotes (2 pack) worked like a charm. Note to those that aren’t very strong, when you have to slide the backing open to insert batteries, press very firmly down on the arrow that’s indicated and slide and its direction. At first, I wasn’t pressing down hard enough and thought how in the world am I supposed to get in this thing. Very happy with purchase now I have 3 remotes, one in the kitchen, one in the family room and one for when I can’t find either of those.

This remote does work well. It was compatible to my tv and connected right away. It was fun at first because of the pointer in the tv, but it does take some getting used to. The price point was good for the product. I could have gotten a different kind for less but opted for the extra features. My only issue has been the sensitivity of the scroll button, but it hasn't caused me too many problems and I do enjoy everything else. It has been a few months and the remote has held up well. It even has voice control which is handy.
