If you are making a vase, for instance, or anything that requires a heavy upward motion, my mindful that the square insert can lift off the main body piece.Other than that one issue to watch out for this system is helpful (just, please, remember not to fire any piece with the insert still attached!)

I was excited for this bat system, the consept is great but I would rather spend the money on individual bat's. It is very woobly. After getting centered when pulling after dropping the middle and pulling the center wall out the bat system starts to wobble and throws my clay off center. Any pressure makes my clay off center and ruins my pots. The material is poor quality. I washed the small bat's once and the material bubbles up and is starting to fall off. I have obky used each square bat once and now cannot use them again. I will not use this again so now money waisted. Do not buy.

I enjoy using the product, although there isn’t a seamless fit so your smaller bag with pop around a little bit. Once cleaned up the next time I go to use it it’s covered in mold! The edges of the cork aren’t sealed and soak in so much water

This bat system seemed great unboxing; however, it kept scraping my hands when I used it on the wheel. The edges where the small bat meets the holder aren’t smooth enough to push on. Returning this item.

I am an experienced potter and I enjoy using this bat system. I’ve had it for about two months and have used it everyday. The inserts do slide a little while centering and lift a bit while coning but I was able to remedy those issues by putting clay into the slots by the insert. I haven’t had any warping and it fits the wheel head on my pottery wheel perfectly. If you use a lot of water while throwing, you may run into warping issues. These are made of wood so use common sense and you’ll be golden.

This bat system allows me to prep five balls of clay and then sit down and throw five pieces in a shorter amount of time by leaving the base attached to the wheel and simply changing out the middle section. It's a bit tricky to get the middle section out (sometimes I'm a messy thrower and clay is all over the bat). However the grooves to grab ahold are deep enough that with minimum effort, I can left out the center piece and slide a new one in place, grab the prepped ball of clay and start again.

This is a solid bat system. The particle board is smooth, sturdy, has bat holes, 5 square inserts. Love it.

I did not like it, I liked the idea of this bat. However, it does not center very well at all.
