Hercules DS640BB Improved Flute/Clarinet Stand with Bag

This Hercules DS640BB flute stand is very stable. I bought it because the standard flute stands made out of plastic are a bit flimsy. This isn't!Good points:1. The velvet parts of the stand are thick velvet and so there is no risk of scratching the inside of the flute;2. Well built. Typical of Hercules products. i use their guitar stands too;3. Fits my flute perfectly and is as stable as any flute stand can be;4. Fits my Low F Irish Whistle perfectly (see photo). My Low D whistle has a bit wider inner circumference, so it's a bit wobbly on this stand, but still very useable.5. It folds down easily and goes straight in the bag.Not so good points:None. It's well worth paying the extra and I'd buy it again.

This is an excellent little stand for a clarinet. Nice and sturdy but easy to pack away. I have the same model for my saxophone. Would happily buy again.

This is a very "refined" flute stand.Pro: Easy to unfold the bottom to swing the feet into place. When they are folded they are aligned horizontally rather than towards the shaft. Still it comes with a sizable bag. Size in length is 17.5 cm or 7 inch. In width it's 9 cm or 3.5 inch. So you cannot fit it in a pocket but it's small enough to put in a small bag.Pro for the shaft: size 23 cm which is 9 inch.It's covered with velvet all over, so it would protect the flute from scratches. The shaft can be pushed to the base of it which looks like an opened arrow. I suppose this last point means that you can fit a clarinet too. But I only have a flute, so cannot comment for clarinets!The shaft hase has a scew coming out of the bottiom to screw it in the foot part of the stand. Very easy to do. And the shaft is on a metal support.Pro plus: this means that it is a very sturdy stand. it is very stable and can just be left open if wished. That's how I use it at home. but it obviously can be taken to concerts, as it will withstand a knock.On the whole, I feel that it's really a goood, solid stand that will protect your flute as it fits snuggly on the shaft. Very easy to use too. I highly recommend it.

Excellent all round. It's fairly heavy, but I expect that translates to better durability and stability, which is important to me. No complaints especially at the relatively low price I paid.

Daughter loves it. The only downside is the short stand for a flute, which makes it a bit wobbly. Otherwise I will give a 5 star.

This is perfect - it is sturdy and the padding around where the bell sits is fantastic and provides a gentle snug fit. This type of padding is the first time I have seen this and it really protects the clarinet from being bumped. The cheaper stands do not provide cushioning (I have had to add it) and on some the clarinet stands the bell can wedge itself on. Cannot recommend this product highly enough. It is worth the extra cost if you have an expensive genadilla clarinet.

Feels good and stable and supports the flute well. Easy to fold and transport. I've only given 4 for portability as it is a little heavier than some and not as compact but if you don't mind that and want a stand that doesn't tip, this is very impressive. The interchangeable peg design is great for those who play different instruments and want a stand that they can switch around easily. So far, am very happy with this stand which gives me confidence to leave my flute on it with others moving around the area.

Very stable, and I like the soft covering on the support 'spike' which means it will not scratch the inside of my flute. Exactly as described. Feel confident it will do the job well. I bought a cheaper one in the past and it was very flimsy and I only used it once. This one is robust but designed to be 'kind' to my flute too.
