Q: If the vacuum doesn't hold a charge, what do I do?

Try this: unplug the charger from the Pick-Up Bricks and turn the orange power switch on the vacuum on then off (or off-on-off). Then with the power switch in the off (‘0’) position, plug the charger back in and let it charge for 2-3 hours. When fully charged it should run for 15-20 minutes of continuous operation. Usually you will have it turned on for only a few minutes at a time. If you think the vacuum is having trouble staying charged, it very likely isn’t getting charged because the power switch may have been turned on at some point during the charging. This is actually a safety feature that doesn’t let the vacuum charge when the power switch is in the on position to prevent it from unexpectedly starting up unattended while being left to charge.

Q: Why does power turn off on own while power cable remains plugged in during use?

As part of the safety features that make this vacuum safe for kids, the battery will not recharge if the power switch is in the on position. The vacuum runs off the internal battery so even if you have the charging cable plugged in while using it, the battery won't recharge and will eventually get too low to run the vacuum. Simply unplug the cable, switch the power on the off (off-on-off) to reset it and then with the power switch in the off ('O') position, plug in for 2-2 ½ hours to be fully charged again.

It’s not quiet, but it’s not oddly loud, either. It’s what you’d assume a small, strong, not super fancy vacuum to sound like.
