Q: very difficult to regulate its either very hot or when turned down does not even simmer consistently any tips - no instructions with it - a bit fed up

Have to agree, and would choose a more expensive item in hindsight! In its defence, it is, I think, like many other "cookers" I have used over the years and takes a lot of getting used to because of individual idiosyncrasies. It is difficult when in the process of cooking an actual meal, but a little practice with different timings on say, just water, gives a clearer view of how the thing works. I find the less-than-flat base makes life difficult too, but on the whole, at the price, it works! (eventually)

Q: Is it compatible to use abroad

Yes as long as its in a 220V supply country ie Spain, Portugal, France, Canaries ets. Not sure where you're going but Google the destination's Voltage before going !!

Q: Can you do stew /mince in this , do you need brown it first thanks

Awsome electric cooker! 10/10 from me! I cook curries,stir fry & a lot more! All English ect ect: iv bought 3 in differs sieze and I use them all a great recommended cooking appliance in my Honest opinion! A must buy don't k ow how I lived with out it! Just make sure you use plastic or wooden not to scratch it! Hope this helps ppl 10/10
