Long term review: great phone, handy updates, still fast and still a good camera
This is a quality phone that really pushes Apple iPhone quality and function to the test. As it's Android though, it means it works and is more flexible in terms of what you can do with it.Naturally a big reason to choose Pixel is the camera. It's pretty good, but not as good as the reviewers made out, in my opinion (and as a graphic designer of over 20 years, I do know). It can produce some gorgeous shots, but this tends to be in ideal lighting. The astro photography mode is clever and works amazingly well too, it must be said, but in-between best lighting and night sky, the camera is a bit hit and miss, adding a lot of grain in semi dim locations. However, it is still on a par with, say, an iPhone of similar age. Install Snapseed to get more out of your photos, would be my top tip (also available on iPhone, by the way).Besides that, the phone has flagship performance, never misses a beat and is still super fast. Can't comment on games, I've never installed any, but I imagine it'd play most games smoothly. One of the nicest things is it is updated regularly by Google, so mine is currently running Android 15 without a hitch and the latest security update - yet the phone is a couple of years old, so it's nice not to feel like it's obsolete as soon as it's left the factory. Also works with DJI Fly app, despite not being a named tested device.Besides all that, the screen is durable - I've dropped it only a couple of times and it does have a case, but no screen protector, and it has been amazingly resilient with not a single scratch on the entire phone. The touch screen works well and the battery lasts 2 days with my fairly gentle usage. I'm not someone who's glued to their phone all the time, or maxing out performance with games, but I do edit a lot of photos and use it for my drone flying too, and I've never had any 'oh crap I'm running out of juice' kind of moments or that would make me think I should carry around a portable battery charger. For me,.the size is great too. Yes, lots of people seem nowadays to enjoy massive screens, but for me, I like something that fits in the pocket and doesn't mean I can't then fit my hand beside it. Android is easy to use of you want, but it's also capable of being a mini super PC. The materials are nicely chosen on the whole (except why and who thought glass on the back of a phone is a good idea?) but a case hides that anyway.

Great phone. Happy with my choice
I don't write a lot of product reviews on Amazon, but the reviews I read helped me so I thought I'd add mine to the mix.I was upgrading from the Huwaei P30 pro, and my main things I was looking for was good camera, fast operating system, decent battery, and decent size. It ticks all the above. The camera is as excellent as you read, I've taken some amazing photos and the editing software seems amazing (I think I've just scratched the surface). At its time (2019) the P30 was seen as a front runner in camera phones and I can see a marked difference.I really like the operating system, it takes a while to learn (and I still am) but it makes a lot of things a lot easier. Initially the info bar at the top of the home screen annoyed me but now I quite like it. What I also don't like is it doesn't have bloatware - just the Google stuff I usually use, there's not some map app I won't use. What I can't speak to is gaming - I don't play games and not sure what it would be like powerwise for them but for everyday Apps news, mail it is pretty snappy. The battery (and charging time) are very good. I can go a day taking loads of photos and I'll still be on 30 something % at the end on the day. Word of warning though, the phone only comes with a charging cable not plug socket (I've since learnt all phones have to do that) what it did mean is I had to go out and buy a charger as the new USB didn't fit the chargers I had.Size wise for me personally it is great. I wanted something which was a bit smaller but was still a decent size to watch films etc. This does it for me. I'm a big guy with big hands and I don't find the keyboard too small. So based on the above it's a great phone and I'm happy with my purchase.

Replacing my iPhone with a Pixel 7 ~ it’s a great phone and much better value
Terrific value on Prime DayNo more iPhones after 9 yearsGoogle Pixel 7 ~ amazing value, quality, photos, screen, facilities and value for money. The picking up of contacts, apps, photos and music from your old Apple is a smart idea.It doesn’t get every t perfect, but it gets you off to a good start. The screen is magnificent and sorting it out is a couple of evenings for me.I have so many apps and passwords ~ CRAZYThe on screen keyboard is excellent and I love having the numbers at the top rather than change screens.Very few false letters with my typing, the extra real estate really helps.I’m liking the Android OS, different but similar, so no problem changing. All my apps are working so far, just some need to wait for my new SIM card.Banking is working fine and wallet is so so similar to iOSCheck out Google Pixel phones for excellent value for money, great build quality, a wonderful camera system. On Amazon Prime Day it was half the price of a similar specification iPhone ~ the Pixel 7 is WORTH EVERY PENNY.
