Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn, Watermelon

This Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle yarn is a 100% polyester yarn made pretty exclusively for scrubbies.The yardage gives you enough yarn to make several scrubbies.The tangerine color is vivid and quite pretty for an orange.The only drawback?...after pretty much only knitting and crocheting with natural fibers - pure wool, silk, linen, and cotton, crocheting with this stuff feels like you are crocheting with barbed wire or with the hair off of a cactus arm!I was not prepared for such a rough experience - literally. It crochets up fast and nicely and is easy to use, but if you are a tactile person such as I am, it's a bit of an unpleasant experience. I must have made way over 2 dozen of them as gifts and they were lovely, but my fingers were quite sore after they were all done.I've used several different brands of the 100% polyester yarn for scrubbies and I think this line had the best colors. All of the polyester scrubby yarns are very rough, but I found that this line had the softest feel to the yarn.

Good colors, easy to use. I use for dish washing and/or for shower exfoliation.

I knit scrubbies with this yarn. Everyone I give them to come and ask for more. The scrubbies are excellent for washing dishes, scrubbing pots and pans, counter tops and sinks, even glassware without scratching. Washer and dryer friendly. I get the yarn in different colors and use the different colors for different chores, i.e., blue for washing dishes, grey for scrubbing sinks, etc. Red Heart is the best brand for these scrubbies and they last forever.

Good product it's everything it said it was

I have been a crocheting for 40 years. I have made so many scrubbies with this brand of yarn and have given many of them away as gifts. The yarn is not difficult to work with for a seasoned crocheter like me. I picked black for my kitchen as it matches my stainless steel and black appliances. However, the lighter colors are much easier to work with, obviously. I have made them in almost every color. I like the 'sparkle' in the yarn as it gives a nice look to the crocheted item. Everyone I give the scrubbies to just loves them. They wash up nice when you put them in with your towels but let them air dry. Do NOT put them in the dryer with your towels, they catch the fuzz and then they don't look as nice. Of course, you can't scrub anything sticky off your pans or dishes as it will not wash out of the scrubbies: things like melted cheese or sticky labels. I felt the price was a little expensive, but I will be buying this yarn again, as many of the colors are not available in the stores near me.
