Good Filter
I have a good mask that takes these filters so when I needed new ones I bought these. They seem to work very well, without the mask I almost ended up in the ER after turning redwood, wearing this I have never had a problem breathing so I assume it is working. The mask is sold separately but every wood worker needs a mask that takes filters like these. It filters 99.97% particles- other then a self enclosed oxygen unit I haven't found any mask that does better and I did a lot of research.

Handles woodworking dust like a champ
I just finished leveling a 13 foot black Walnut Fitch using a router sled and bottom bit. What a mess of fine dust that created. Using these filters with the 7502 mask, which is very comfortable, breathing was effortless. The filters were black when I finished and curiosity got the better of me so I cut them open. The outside and first layers were caked with fine dust. All the layers beyond were white as can be. Never once did I feel respitory irritation from dust. These worked so well I felt a review was well deserved. Hope this helps.

Otherwise a great product.
It's an airfilter. Not much to say. I certainly does the job. The only problem I've had is that it has a tendency to pop off the mask on occasion. This might be a function of the mask, or my installation of the filter. Otherwise a great product.

Much better system
I like this system much better than a dust mask. It is easier to breath, they are comfortable, and they don't fog up my glasses. And if they work as advertised, they are much more efficient. And there is good reason to think they do. I started out with the 'paint mist' cartridges from Home Depot. Used some spray paint, and they really worked. When I needed to remove the asbestos from my heating vents, I bought these cartridges. No need to purchase a whole new system. Just change the cartridge on the mask I already bought. 3M, I'm now a fan and am throwing away all my old dust mask. These are better in every way.

Great filters at a reasonable price!
My workshop is in my old, musty storage building that has a lot of mold, mildew, and sawdust. To make it worse, I have a lot of allergies that are affected by those conditions. These filters are perfect for that environment, and I have no allergy issues as long as I use these filters on my respirator every time I work in the shop! Have reordered, and will keep doing so!

A real improvement over the 2091
This is 3M's newest HEPA type filter for their 6000/7000 filter masks. 3M also makes the 2091 filter which has been their P100 filter, and a 2097 filter - which is a nuisance organic vapor level absorption combined with P100 filtration - which I like. The decreased effort breathing with the 2291 filter is quite noticeable. I also noted decreased condensation inside my mask. I greatly prefer the new 2291 over the 2091 - the difference is worth the extra price. I note that 3M has also come out with the new filter combined with nuisance organic vapor level absorption - the 2297, and I will definitely buy some of these as well. The nuisance level absorption is adequate for mild paint/varnish fumes. For heavier exposures I use the dedicated organic vapor filters.
