Spot-on Accuracy!
I recently used an emergency radio from CC Crane, the 'CCRadio-SW', while at 10,000' in the Colorado high country, while elk hunting. Unfortunately, the large capacity 'D' batteries ran down, so we were out of luck keeping updated on weather, etc. I wished that I could have connected this radio to a large, marine-type, deep-charge, 12v battery, which was running our lights, but I didn't have the proper adapter. CC Crane tech staff later reported that they used to carry a 12v adapter, but no longer. The tech guy confirmed that I would have to be sure not to fry the circuitry in the radio, and would have to reduce the 12v DC to 9v DC. This converter from DROK is perfect. This component is very well labeled for in/output, and polarity. My digital multi-meter reads an output of a hair over 9v, from a fully charged marine/deep-cycle battery. I connected this DROK converter to an in-line fuse holder, using a 0.5mA glass fuse. My radio is rated at 500 milliamps, so this arrangement is working great. I used 18-22 gauge, crimp/butt connectors, pieces of small gauge wire, and used an old DC plug, being careful to observe correct polarity. So now, this radio will operate off of 120v AC, 12v DC, or 'D' batteries...perfect for an emergency/backcounty radio!

Make sure you test with a voltmeter before you put to use!
I ordered 12VDC input and 9VDC output. It's labeled 9VDC. However, actual output is 5VDC. I assume the unit was manufactured correctly but mislabeled. I ordered another one. Make sure you test with a voltmeter before you put to use!EDIT: I ordered another 9VDC and it was perfect. Returned the old one without issue.I am using this to power my Line 6 HX Stomp guitar/bass effects pedal from my vehicle or other 12VDC source.
