Works well for my gouache paints
I've been using one of these for my gouache paints for a few years now. I just squeeze some gouache paint from their tubes into these wells, and add just a tiny bit of water and mix with a toothpick to a slightly melted ice cream consistency to paint with. and I spray the paints down with a water mister bottle every now and then if they seem to be getting too thick or dry. It has kept my paints fresh and protected for up to a year with minimal leaking or messes. I've seen some fellow artists get mold growing in their palettes/paints, but I've yet to have that happen to mine. I ended up ordering another one of these palettes after a couple of years just to have a nice new clean one, but my old one still works well, just a pain to fully clean out.

Sturdy little box to carry my paint
I was looking for something to carry my gouache paints in for when I go to class or on vacation. This paint storage pallets box seems to do the trick. The 24 little container holes hold a fair amount of paint, enough for me to take on vacation and not run out. There is a thumb ring on the bottom of the box to make it more stable for if you want to balance the box on your hand to paint from. I just sit the box on my table but for plein air painting this would be very useful. I haven't had any problem with the paint spilling into another color's bin, but my paint is on the thicker side. I don't know how it would be with really wet, watery paint, though the lid does seem to fit nice and snug. There is also a small scraper attached to the box which comes in handy to scoop out paint or to use as a pallet knife. One of the closing brackets fell off durning use, but the bracket was easily snapped back on in place. When closing the lid on top, be sure you have the lid placed correctly, with the brackets lined up in the correct spots. Nicely made and sturdy. A nice addition to my art supplies.

Watercolors kept moist, but . . .
This palette box has by and large done for me what was expected. It is quality built & the locking lid helps keep my watercolors relatively moist, easy to recharge with a spray bottle. There are ample wells to keep a wide variety of colors. I have used mine for almost a year. My disappointment at times has been that the wells are a bit small, and hard to clean if I want to switch colors (the cleaning tab provided is somewhat helpful). It's also a tad heavy but that shouldn't bother you unless you plan to take it backpacking. I decided to try to find a larger one, and ordered this one because the description had dimensions that were larger. However, those dimensions (for the box/wells, not the lid) are wrong and what I received is exactly the same as my current box. The metric dimensions on the box it came in are right but the item on the website in inches is erroneous. I am not sure if I will keep this one or not.

Cute!
you can’t make art when all your paint is still in the tubes! This is worth it just to have immediate access to your paint

This palette box is super cute and it fit pretty much all my paints-- not including the spots above the thumb hole... the wells are smaller there.I have no idea what the flat attachment is actually for and haven't found any definitive answers but I've been using it to smooth and mix my gouache so I cant complain that it doesn't have a use. However, I personally do not use the thumb hole, I just don't find it comfortable holding it with my left hand. It is, though, very comfortable with my right; too bad I need that hand to actually paint. The palette seems like it keeps my paints wet for quite a while. To be fair, I'm extremely cautious about not letting my gouache dry out so I spray it every 3 days but I can most likely get away with spraying it less often. The only complaint I really have is that any water in the paints will leak to the other wells (not spraying it often could probably fix that though).Overall its one of my favorite palettes and I'm extremely tempted to buy a second one when I eventually make myself a secondary custom palette with mixed gouache rather than straight from the tubes.Edit: It's been 3 months since I bought my box and this edit and I stand by everything posted above. I feel like I should clarify the leaking thing because it's really odd. This box can leak paints into other wells with the box sitting completely still. From what I can tell, if the wells are filled too much and then sprayed, moisture will travel through the cracks of the silicone seal-- picture from my first box's lid included. This is completely avoidable by filling the wells halfway max.I followed through and bought a second box for a skin tone set and I even have plans for a 3rd box when I can afford to make a pastel set. Seriously, I love this Palette box that much.I'm a lot more lax on spraying my paints nowadays. My skin tone set is still out-of-the-tube workable after not messing with it for 12 days. The first box was workable 15-20 days in but I ended up intentionally drying the gouache out because I made some metallic watercolors and needed to be dried out completely.

Good for travel
It’s a very nice airtight locked pallet for mostly acrylic and gauche paints. Very good, however the individual wells are very small. I thought the entire container would be larger as would be the wells for the paint. It’s probably good for traveling but not in my personal art space.

This paint case is well made and small...great for travel or studio work alike.
Because of the airtight lid on this case, the gouache paint is kept wet and ready for use. It has enough wells to house a larger palette of colors. It is small and transports easily for plain air painting. The cost for this case is reasonable and allows for each artist to fill the wells with their colors of choice. This is a must for artists who pant with gouache.
