Truly a masterpiece
I just finished playing Persona 5 Royal on the Nintendo Switch, and I'm still reeling from the incredible experience. As a long-time fan of the Persona series, I was blown away by the sheer quality and depth of this game. The Switch port is a masterclass in storytelling and gameplay, and it's a must-play for anyone who loves RPGs or Japanese culture. The story is where Persona 5 Royal truly shines. The game's narrative is a beautifully crafted exploration of themes such as identity, rebellion, and the power of human connection. The characters are complex and well-developed, with each one bringing their own unique personality to the table. The voice acting is superb, with the English dub being particularly impressive. The gameplay is also incredibly engaging. The turn-based combat system is fast-paced and addictive, with a wide range of personas and abilities to master. The social simulation elements are also expertly handled, allowing you to build relationships with your fellow Phantom Thieves and explore the world outside of combat. But what really sets Persona 5 Royal apart is its attention to detail. The game's visuals are stunning, with vibrant colors and detailed character models. The soundtrack is equally impressive, with a catchy and memorable score that perfectly complements the game's atmosphere. The Switch port is also incredibly well-done, with the game running smoothly and seamlessly on the console. The Joy-Con controls are perfectly adapted to the game's combat system, making it easy to navigate the menu and switch between personas. If you're new to the Persona series, don't worry - Persona 5 Royal is an excellent starting point. The game's story is designed to be accessible to new players, and the game's tutorial system is well-structured and easy to follow. In conclusion, Persona 5 Royal is an absolute masterpiece of a game. It's a must-play for anyone who loves RPGs, Japanese culture, or just great storytelling in general. The Switch port is a fantastic way to experience this game, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new gaming experience.Pros:Engaging story with complex charactersAddictive gameplay with depthful combat systemExcellent social simulation elementsStunning visuals and soundtrackWell-done Switch port with smooth gameplayCons:None significant enough to mentionRecommendation:If you're looking for a new gaming experience that will keep you engaged for hours on end, look no further than Persona 5 Royal. Haven’t put the game down since I bought it
I bought Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo Switch because it was one of my most wanted ports. I gotta say, I’ve played it for 10 hours within under 48 hours of obtaining the game & I’ve had a hard time putting the game down thanks to the likable characters & engaging story. The only issue I have is that since I have big hands, the blood circulates in my hands over time. But that’s not to do with the game itself, I bought a grip case which should be on the way soon so I have a more comfortable experienceOverall, Great Game so far

Brilliant
Although formula is exactly the same, I'm liking this one much better than the forth one (P4G) it tackles darker subject matter and has more bad language so feels more mature. Its got incredible stylish presentation and runs flawless on the switch. It's a must buy for JRPG fans. At £34.99 it's a bargain. They could have easily whacked a £49.99 on this and it still would have been worth it.This is an edit a few days later, after spending more time with the game.......I've now become obsessed with it, story has me hooked right in. Its an incredible game.

A great game, now on Switch
Persona 5 Royal takes the flawed gem that is Persona 5, a game that was too long and had stretches of poor pacing, crams all the original content into a tighter package that improves the pacing and goes by more quickly and then fills it out with an excellent new semester. The new content is some of the best Persona story and gameplay ever. Really, truly brilliant stuff.

A classic
Persona 5 royal is very similar to Persona 5, the main differences are additive like more characters, story moments and things that you can do. If you are looking to play Persona 5, you can consider this basically a definitive edition. It is a LONG game, a really long game. 70+ hours for me to finish the story once and you will not get everything done in that time. This is a game that requires multiple goes to see everything the game takes place in a set number of in game days and you can only do so much within that time. Your first run is best spent building up your stats so that in your second run you can go about seeing most of it and probably following a guide so that you can get the secret ending. Unlike most other games, there really isn't a way to speed P5R up, the day system means its impossible to just sprint through the main quests.Like many games of its genre the bulk of its charm is in the little things you do from day to day building character relationships and your own stats. You may well need a guide, especially for the crossword puzzles which require some surface level knowledge on Japanese turns of phrase when translated into english.
