Read it More than Once.
I gave this book to my nephew to read in the fall of 2024 as he entered the 5th grade. He has been reading it daily up until now (spring 2025) to truly understand the subject matter. Young students must learn how to learn and develop effective study habits. Unfortunately, our education system and teachers often do not teach children how to learn, and many parents are unaware of how to instill good study habits in their children. This is why this book is so essential for students. However, reading this book just once is not sufficient for any serious student who wishes to improve as a scholar. Therefore, I encouraged my nephew to read it daily because he needs to grasp the different study habits outlined in the book. He has come to realize that each subject taught in school requires a specific study habit, and he understands the scientific reasons why these study habits are effective. The study habits he learned helped him improve his science and social studies test scores. He undertand how to better prepare for his exam due to the knowlefge he learns from this book. I highly recommend this book for teachers, parents, and students. This book is perfect for middle school students and older!PS: I will make sure my nephew continues to read this short book daily during the school year when he graduates from the sixth grade next fall. 20 mins daily just to refresh his memory.

Helpful, Easy Read
This book has been a valuable tool for my college students who are struggling with studying and learning concepts of the course. The book is well-written and easy for students to understand. Students typically come to me for help when they are panicking so asking them to take a pause from their homework to read this book and develop a new study plan can seem overwhelming, but helps them in the long run turn their grade trajectory towards an A.

Not just for students or those who teach them...
Picked this up after hearing the authors on a podcast. Teaching and learning isn't just for school...it's so important in hiring, leadership and even the sales profession, so I grabbed a copy and read it through that lens. Burned through a highlighter pretty quickly. So many lessons for how to enable new hires in their new roles, how to lead others, and in sales...how to create learning experiences for prospects and customers. The fact that it's written for students makes it so consumable, too...not a bunch of big-worded fluff - data-backed best practices and approaches that will make learning more efficient and effective for everyone.

Package Handling Issue
It's a good book, but the photos show the conditions the book arrived sent by Amazon. It was supposed to be a new book.

Boy, I wish I could have read this 40 years ago!
How to study? How to learn the most with the least amount of effort, in way way that keeps things interesting? And best of all, what study methods DON’T work? Such a great book! :-)

The book every student needs to read
Most students don't know how to study or worse, assume they do, but are badly misinformed. Gurung and Dunlosky provide concrete, research-based recommendations that not only debunk all those mistaken ideas about how to learn, but explain what really works and why. Written in a clear, engaging way with lots of helpful examples, Study Like a Champ is the go-to guide that every high school and college student needs to read. I retired from full-time college teaching several years ago, but I wish this book had been available to assign to my students. It's a gem!
