Bought this ball retriever to replace the one I had because it didn’t fit well in the bag and could make it hard to put putter in or take it out. This one comes with no instructions so I had to figure out how to install it (wasn’t too hard to do) and then how to open and close it(that took a little more time to figure out). It fits nicely on top of my putter grip so goes in and out of bag much more easily but it does open sometimes when I take the club out and it feels a little flimsy to me. With my old one I just put it over the ball and pushed down. It was like a rubber suction cup. This one has to be properly centered over ball and then gently pushed down. I use it to retrieve balls from the hole so the ball doesn’t move away too much. Since I can lift balls with my putter I don’t use it on the green but when I tried it the ball just kept rolling away. It only goes over two sides of the ball, unlike my old one which covered the entire circumference of the ball so no roll. I’m not unhappy with it but it does feel like if I pushed down hard it would break. Have used it for three rounds so far without it breaking. It comes 6 retrievers to the package and I paid only $6.70, so for the money it seems a decent value.

I installed these on several putters. Easy to attach and stable. Works pretty well even with the flag stick in the hole. I can see how they might break over time so it's a good thing to have several waiting in the wings. [3 months later...I was right about how long they last before breaking. It's a good thing to have extras. ]

My reviews have been generally positive so...Delivered several days late. Really wish they weren't delivered at all. Pulled putter out of bag on first hole and the flip top had fallen / broken off so I wasn't able to even try to get a ball out with it 🙁!Took off and put on the second one and by third hole... You guessed it, the second flip top was in the bottom of the bag. Was hoping these would at least Las 90 to 120 days but they don't even last a round.Look elsewhere if you need this gadget.

It installed easily with 3 screws, and it became easy to flick it open in prep to retrieve the ball, and close, and worked fine, but after a few rounds, the smaller of the 2 prongs eventually breaks. I tried to be more gentle with picking the ball out of the hole to try and make them last longer, but no luck. Good thing there are several in a pack. I’ve already gone thru 3 of them since I bought the pack…..looking for another type to get ready to use now.

These are great little inventions for those of us with back issues. My only problem is that they do not last long. Luckily they come in a six pack and are easily replaced.The first one I put on lasted about a month. I golf 3-4 times per week, 18 holes. That is a lot of usage. I don't think the average person golfs that much. I would recommend them.
